Hey! Thanks for taking the time to help me out. No gradual signs honestly, it kinda popped out of nowhere. Happens both while driving and at idle which is a real pain, especially on longer drives. I'll definitely look into the battery angle you suggested. My Mazda's got 207488 KM on the meter, and last service was pretty recent, so this quirk surprised me quite a bit. Let's see how the battery check-up goes and hopefully, it's nothing more than that. Cheers!
Hey there! No worries at all, happy to lend a hand. A sudden fault like that popping up is indeed strange, especially considering your recent service. And the fact that it happens both while driving and at idle does suggest it could be electric, so the battery check is a good next step. I remember when I had my issue, the battery was not visibly leaking, it was a slow internal leak that eventually corroded the terminals and started impacting other electric parts. Luckily, the problem was caught before anything major was damaged. So don't wait too long before getting it checked out. Alternatively, it could also be an issue with the wiring to the electric seats. Just to cover all bases, you could also have the wiring inspected when you go to the workshop. One time with my Mazda, aside from the battery, the rat chewed through part of the electric wires in my car, which caused all sorts of weird electrical problems. Good luck and fingers crossed it's not too serious! Keep us posted on how it goes. Safe driving!
Hey! I appreciate all your advice. I've scheduled an appointment with the workshop for the coming week to get the battery and the wiring inspected. Fingers crossed it's just a minor problem and not something serious. The idea of rats causing trouble does sound weird but I'll keep an eye out for any signs of them too. Thanks again for your help. You bet I'll keep you posted. Drive safe and catch you soon!
Hey there! I've got some experience on this - not a mechanic, but a car enthusiast, owning a 2001 Mazda Protege myself. I faced a similar problem when my sunroof and windows started going haywire. Turned out to be a defective battery leaking into my electrical system. Got it sorted at my local workshop, set me back 290€. Was it all of a sudden, or have you noticed any signs before this? Do the issues occur while driving or just when the car is idle? These might help narrow down the problem! Let's crack this nut together!
