Thanks for sharing! Your experience does sound eerily similar to what I'm dealing with right now. Kinda relieved knowing it's potentially just a cable connection problem. I'll definitely head to a workshop and get those codes checked as you advised, just to be sure. My i30 managed to chug along to 51207 KM before this issue arose, so I guess that's something to be thankful for. Last serviced in mid-2020, so it's due for a check anyway. I'll share an update once I've got things sorted, appreciate the help!
No worries! I'm glad I could help. Mmm, your odometer reading and last service date sound about right for this kind of issue to show up. Just keep your fingers crossed it's nothing too serious. Anyway, it's all part and parcel of owning a car, isn't it? Few ups and downs but we love 'em, still. Looking forward to hearing back from you after the checkup - who knows, it might be even a simpler fix than mine was. Remember, every car is unique in its own way. Don't hesitate to hit me up if you have any more questions. Best of luck with it!
Couldn't agree more, owning a car is indeed a love and hate relationship. I'm off to the workshop in a couple of days. Fingers crossed the issue gets resolved without a hefty bill attached to it, ha! And absolutely I'll keep you posted on how things go. Thanks for the help and the reassurance, truly appreciate it!
Hey there, interestingly enough I ran into a similar issue on my 2011 Hyundai Elantra. I've always been a bit of an amateur car enthusiast, I'd say with some conviction that I have some level of experience when it comes to diagnosing issues with my own vehicle. In my case, the weak battery during startup, dimming lights, and warning light ended up being related to a Cable connection of the control unit. Believe it or not, the connection to the BUS system was defective. The dealer workshop diagnosed and fixed the issue for me and it set me back 260 Euro. Bit of a bummer but it did the job right. I encourage you to get the error codes from your car, though, as it would be interesting to cross-check. It might be something else, so better to be sure. Keep us in the loop, anyway. Good luck!
