Hey, thanks for the insight! Sounds like a real tricky situation you had with your Sorento. Your experience gives me a bit of hope though. I was just wondering, do you still have an idea of what you ended up shelling out to get the CAN Bus issue put right? And since then, has your car been running smooth or any other pesky tech gremlins popped up? Cheers in advance!
Hey there, good to hear you found my previous response helpful! Well, as for the cost, from what I remember, it was around 235.00 big ones, Euro that is. I must admit it did sting a bit, especially considering it wasn't something I expected to fix. But hey, gotta keep the wheels turning, right? Once that CAN Bus issue was sorted out, my Sorento has been running like a dream, no more tech-ghosts since then. The error messages between the control devices have been kept at bay and the good ol' navigation has been back on track since. Taking it to the mechanic to get it fixed was indeed worth every penny. Hope this eases your worries a bit. Remember, it's all part of the journey owning a car. Good luck and cheers!
Kudos to you! I was bit a worried that the whole ordeal might burn a hole in my pocket. But hearing you out, 235 Euro doesn't sound that bad considering the peace of mind it brings along. I'm relieved to hear that your Sorento has been behaving well since. It gives me the confidence to head down to my local garage and get this messy affair sorted, once and all. Appreciate your input, really helped shed some light on this issue! I'll keep my fingers crossed and hope that I experience a similar smooth sailing post fix. Thanks again. Cheers!
Hey, surely sounds like you’re dealing with a pesky CAN Bus or MOST Bus issue. I had a somewhat similar situation with my 2021 Kia Sorento, only a few klicks more on the clock than yours. The whole infotainment system was on the fritz, the sat-nav and radio would unusually stop working, which frankly was a bummer. I did get it sorted at my local garage though. Turns out, the problem was the CAN Bus connecting the control units. The messages between the devices were getting lost or corrupted, causing the navigation system to act up. In my case, the wiring harness had some disruption, so the communication between devices wasn't smooth. They had to trace the exact faulty area and fix the wiring. Just want to be clear here, it's not a piece of cake. It can be quite time-consuming considering the complexity of the issue and the need to trace back all the possible points of failure. But, don't worry once you get it sorted, you should be good to go! It's essential that you take it to a garage that has dealt with this sort of error before. The upside is, once it was done, my Optima was back to its usual self, working like a charm! Hope this helps out! Don’t stress too much, it’s a fixable problem. Cheers!
