Thanks for the input! My Tiburon is a manual. Apart from the issues I mentioned, she's been running fairly smoothly - had a full service done at 61,941 KM, no issues flagged then. I'll definitely make a note of the Steering Column Switch Cable Connection though, and have it checked out during the next service. Thanks once again!
No worries happy to help! Reminds me a bit of my old Elantra... she was a manual too. Sounds like you're keeping good care of your Tiburon with regular servicing. That's a pretty low mileage for a 2007 model, by the way. The Steering Column Switch Cable Connection definitely sounds like something to look into based on my own experience. But also, don't rule out the wiper motor or the headlight cleaner pump. When the wiper motor has issues, it can cause erratic behavior. Same goes for the headlight cleaner pump, if it's faulty, your headlight cleaner won't work properly. When you take it in for the next service check, you might want to have them also check these components. They're the usual suspects for the symptoms you're describing. Hopefully the RS (real solution) isn't far off! Keep us posted and drive safely, bud!
Cheers for the sound advice, I appreciate it! You're right about the mileage - I've been fortunate to keep trips to a minimum with this one. I'll definitely ensure they check out the wiper motor and the headlight cleaner pump next time I take her in for a service. Your experience might just be the saving grace for my Tiburon. Appreciate the guidance and will be sure to keep you all updated. Happy and safe driving to you too!
Hey there, sounds like you've got quite the pickle. I went through the same headache with my 2005 Hyundai Elantra a while back. Just to be clear, I'm not a car expert by any means, I've got some experience but nothing fancy. My wipers were running amok and my headlights were misbehaving. Took her to my local garage and they pinpointed the issue to a defective Steering Column Switch Cable Connection. This fancy term basically controls a lot of the magic happening when you flick those switches behind your steering wheel. Cost me 155€ to have it fixed. Not the cheapest day, but definitely solved the issue. But hey, enough about me. Could you possibly tell me a little bit more about your situation? Is your vehicle automatic or manual? Have you noticed any other strange behavior lately? The more info you give, the easier it'll be for us to nail this problem down.
