Hey, appreciate the response! Good guess, that's the same I've been suspecting! My Duster's racked up 122543 km so far. My last service was about 5 months back and all seemed well then. No recent major repairs to note, pretty much just your basic maintenance. As for the FPR, yup, it's still the original one. Hmm, maybe it's finally time for a change. Thanks for sharing your experience and cost insights, really helpful to get a handle on this. Cheers!
Hey! Thanks for getting back and providing all the details. Sounds like your Duster has made some considerable road miles. Given this mileage, the original FPR could indeed be the culprit. I must tell you, replacing it was like a breath of fresh air for my Logan. Post-repair, the black smoke ceased, acceleration smoothed out, and that wretched exhaust smell was gone. It was a bit of a pocket pinch at the time, but totally worth it! Just a heads up though: these symptoms can sometimes be misleading and pertain to a wide range of issues (not just the FPR). The fault codes will be your best guide. Your best bet is to have a professional look into it soon - it's crucial not to let it ruin your engine. Stay calm, you've got this! Your Duster will be back to its old self again before you know it! Good Luck!
Thanks a bunch! Your experience definitely gives me a better idea of what to expect. Guess it's time for my Duster to see the mechanic for its own breath of fresh air. And aye, totally agree - won't be missing out on those diagnostic codes. Let's hope it's just the FPR and nothing major. Eager to have my ride back in shape. Appreciate your advice and the positive vibes! Cheers!
Hey there! Your issue sounds very familiar. I had a similar thing with my 2013 Dacia Logan just last year. I reckon I'd label myself as having some car experience, and with this particular issue, it was definitely a learning curve. What treated my car's problems was addressing a defective Fuel Pressure Regulator. It was messing up the air/fuel mixture, leading to the black smoke and poor performance. The local workshop got it fixed up for around 250 Euro. The journey wasn't all smooth sailing though; scanning the car for fault codes and narrowing down the actual root problem took a while. To give you more detailed help, could you share more about your vehicle? Mileage, maintenance history, and recent repairs would be insightful. Even knowing whether it's the original FPR would be handy. Hopefully, we can get your Duster back in shape soon!
