Thanks for the insightful reply! Really appreciate it. Now that you mention it, I think I might be dealing with the same problem. My Sorento's got about 158444 km on it, haven't had any significant recent work done, besides the usual oil change and tires check. That's kind of why this issue took me by surprise, things were running smoothly for so long! But considering your experience, I think it's high time I take my old girl to a trusty workshop for a proper check-up. Your €315 estimate does seem a bit hefty, but if it guarantees smooth sailing afterward like you said, then it just might be worth it. Thanks for your advice, I'll definitely keep it in mind while troubleshooting my ride!
Hey again! Glad to hear my advice was helpful. Your mileage isn't that high really for a 2014 model, but still, it's always good to stay on top of these things. Just to add some more context to my previous experience, I was also dealing with some seemingly unusual electrical issues on top of the odd lights and weak start. It was a real puzzle for me until I got the battery sensor microprocessor checked and fixed. You might find different costs for the fix depending on where you go, so maybe get a few quotes before you decide, if you're concerned about the cost. But yeah, for me it was definitely worth the peace of mind. Cars, am I right? A never-ending adventure :D I'll be interested to hear what you find out after taking your Sorento for a check-up. Always good to exchange info and stay knowledgeable about our rides! Good luck, and keep us posted!
Haha, a never-ending adventure indeed! Your follow-up advice is very helpful and hits me right where I'm at with all these electrical issues. Think I'll definitely be following your footsteps and heading to a workshop for a battery sensor microprocessor check. Getting a few quotes sounds like a solid plan; I'll keep that in mind, thanks for the heads-up on potential cost variations. And you're right about exchanging info - it's always great to connect with who know their way around these things. I'll definitely keep you guys posted on how things turn out with the ol' Sorento. Thanks again for all the helpful advice! Cheers, everyone.
Hey there, I had a similar issue with my 2012 Kia Optima a while back. This is coming from someone with some car fixing experience - not a pro, but I know my way around an engine. I took my Kia to this no-frills, trustworthy workshop I usually visit. The mechanic ran a thorough check and found the issue with my Battery sensor microprocessor; he said it was defective. Seeing the symptoms you're experiencing, it sounds like you may be facing the same issue. If I remember correctly, the fix ran me around 315 Euro. Seemed a bit steep at the time, but then, it was all smooth sailing afterwards. That's my two cents, but it would help if you could share more about your car's condition, like its mileage, any recent work done, and so on. More info would enable us to help you better. Good luck!
