Hey! Appreciate your insights. So, my Hyundi ix35 has clocked in 87108 KM so far. The latest service was done around 5000KM back. No major issues until these problems cropped up recently. I did have an air filter replacement during the last service but can't think of anything else that could be causing this situation. But I'll definitely look into the cable and plug issue you mentioned. Hopefully, that would help me solve this. Thanks again for your help, will keep you updated. Cheers!
Hey again! No problem, happy to help. Given your car's mileage, it’s not uncommon for spark plug or cable issues to occur. Also, I'd like to add that it might be a Fuel Injector problem too. An injector issue can often lead to those symptoms you're dealing with - black smoke, jerky acceleration, poor fuel economy. A clogged or damaged injector wouldn't spray fuel as it should, leading to improper combustion. If that's the case, you might need professional assistance to get it cleaned or replaced. Remember to also get your trouble codes scanned since your check engine light is on. This can provide important clues to diagnose the issue. Anyway, do update us on what you find. Fingers crossed it's something manageable! Safe travels.
Thanks! That's really informative. The Fuel Injector problem sounds like something I shouldn't ignore. I'll bring my car to the local shop and have them check for both cable/plug and the potential fuel injector issues you mentioned. And yeah, I will definitely get the trouble codes scanned as well. Thanks once more for sharing your thoughts, fingers crossed the issue gets resolved soon. Ride safe!
Hi there! By coincidence, I faced a similar issue with my slightly older 2017 Hyundai Tucson, petrol model. By no means am I a car expert but I do have some hands-on experience with my car, so here's what happened. The moment I noticed my check engine light came on, it was off to my local workshop (fortunately they figured out what was wrong). Turned out, it was the Cable/plug issue. The fix cost around 95€. My two cents would be to start with your wires and plugs, and go from there. That said, every car is different, could you please share additional details about your vehicle, like mileage, maintenance history or any specific symptoms, so I could help you further? Hope this helps. Safe driving!
