Hey! Thanks for the advice! My S40 has clocked up about 107164 KM, and I had my last regular service not too long ago. The mechanics checked the battery then and it seemed to be doing alright. You've definitely given me something to look into though; I might have a better dig around or run some tests on the battery myself. It's just a bit puzzling considering the symptoms seem to be more electrical. Hopefully I can get to the bottom of it. But hey, gotta roll with the punches of the car-owning life, right? Thanks again!

No worries, always happy to help out a fellow Volvo owner! You're definitely right about the quirks of owning a car. Fun, but there can be some real head-scratchers. Since your battery got a clean bill of health, it's possible that there might be an issue somewhere in the wiring or the terminal 30 as you suspected initially. Since the terminal is the main power supply for all the electrical systems, any interruption can cause all sorts of weird glitches. For my S60, I had a weird issue with my headlights dimming and brightening randomly. Took me ages to figure out that it was a worn-out wire causing the issue. If you're comfortable with it, it might be worth doing a once-over of your wiring and seeing if you can find a loose connection or a frayed wire. But if that's a bit beyond your comfort zone, getting a professional to do a more thorough check could save you a lot of headaches. Hang in there, hope you'll get this sorted out soon!

Cheers! For sure, I'll give the wiring a thorough look soon as I can and double-check that terminal 30. The idea of a worn-out wire certainly doesn't sound too off, considering the age of the car. If all else fails, or it proves to be more complex, the experts at the garage will just have to become my new best friends until this gets resolved. Thanks for sharing your experience and advice — really appreciate it. Keep enjoying your drives and stay safe on the road!

Hey there! I had a similar issue with my 2009 Volvo S60 Diesel. I'm not an expert by any means - I'd say I'm somewhere in the low to some experience bracket when it comes to car troubles. I ended up taking mine to my local garage, and they found that the battery was faulty and losing charge. Ended up costing me about 290 Euro to get the battery replaced. Sorted the problem right out! Just a shot in the dark, but have you taken a look at your battery lately? Could be a similar issue. But without knowing more about your car, it's hard to say for sure.
