Hey again really appreciate your insights. Hearing you had similar woes gives me a bit of relief to be honest. Glad to hear that replacing the defective sensor worked wonders for you. My Logan has been serviced and maintained regularly and after my last service at 71533 KM km, everything seemed okay. But as you've pointed out, I haven't had the ECU checked yet. Sounds like I need to have another chat with my mechanic, maybe even get a full diagnostic run. Anyways, thanks again for the advice. Cheers!
Hey! No worries at all! I completely get where you're coming from, that's exactly why these forums are so handy. Your car's relatively fine mileage for its model year does give me pause, though. Usually, issues like these tend to pop up on older cars. But you're doing the right thing - you should definitely have a professional take another gander, especially since you've been diligent with your regular service and maintenance. About the ECU checkup, I'd strongly recommend it. They'll probably run a multimeter test on your car battery to check voltage fluctuations or any other irregularities. This should pinpoint any potential issues with the battery sensor, or other related parts. When mine was checked, they found that the faulty sensor was causing the ECU to read the battery's power level incorrectly which messed up the cold starts. And remember, just like with a second opinion on a health diagnosis, a second mechanical one is often a really good idea too. So I reckon it'll be worth it to put your Dacia through a thorough diagnostic test. All the best with it, and let us know how it goes, yeah? Cheers!
G'day once again, your input is invaluable. I definitely feel more clued up now! You're absolutely right, it's puzzling that these issues are popping up given the car's mileage. But hey, who knows how cars decide when to act up, right? The ECU checkup and multimeter test you suggested make sense, I'll be sure to have my mechanic take those into consideration. Here's hoping it’ll help us pinpoint those darn issues. And aye, a second opinion sounds like a smart idea, especially with all these complications going on. I'll keep you updated on how things progress with my stubborn Dacia. Thanks a ton for sharing your experiences and advice, you're a legend! Take it easy and cheers!
Hey! I've got myself a 2017 Dacia Sandero Stepway, pretty similar to yours. Now, I wouldn't call myself a car expert - in fact, I'd say I have very low experience in car mechanics. As for your issue, I think we've been down the same road. I was having the exact same problem with the damnable cold starts. Took forever to start up, and sometimes wouldn’t start at all, just like yours. I took it to my local garage and turns out, the issue was indeed the battery sensor microprocessor - it was defective! I ended up having to pay up around 315 Euro to get the whole mess fixed. They replaced the sensor and boom, no more issues since then! By the way, did you get your car's ECU checked? Need more deets about your car to make sure if it could be the same problem. Cheers!
