Seeking Solutions for Alarm System Malfunctions and Weak Battery on 2013 Gasoline Citroen Celysee

Alarm system malfunctions

Weak battery when starting the engine

Hey! I've been dealing with some odd issues on my 2013 Gasoline Citroen Celysee. Lately, there are malfunctions with the alarm system, and the battery seems weak during engine start. I've been suspecting the anti-theft alarm system could be the culprit, but I'm not entirely sure. Has anyone else experienced this kind of problem? How did you or your workshop manage to fix it? Any shared experience would be a huge help, thanks!

Hey! I've had a similar issue with my 2011 Citroen DS3, so we're almost in the same boat. Just to mention, my level of car expertise is pretty low, but I learned a lot from this experience. I took my car to a local workshop, and they found that the alarm system was incorrectly coded, causing it to activate the optical locking. This was what drained my battery. They recoded the system, and it only set me back by 45€. It might be worth checking the alarm system on your Celysee to see if it's the same problem. If you'd like, provide me with more details about the issues with your car, and maybe I can help you more!

Hey there, appreciate the reply and the advice! That's interesting, I never thought it could be an issue with the coding. My Celysee has clocked about 87123 KM since the last service. The signs I'm seeing are a flickering alarm system light and a persistently weak battery, even after I just replaced it not too long ago. I'll drop by my local mechanic later this week to get the anti-theft system checked and that coding thing you mentioned. Thank you for sharing your experience! It's good to hear from someone who managed to fix a similar issue. Cheers!

Hey there! I'm glad to hear my advice got you thinking! It seems like we're having pretty similar issues. The flickering alarm light was definitely a sign for me too. It's crazy, right? 45€ to fix something that might seem like a big problem. I mean our cars aren't brand new, but they still got plenty of life left in them! When I had the issue, it also felt like my Citroen has to put a good bit of effort to start, but after the re-coding, things have been running smoothly with no battery issues. Remember to let them know about the flickering alarm light and replacing the battery recently. Those details would help them narrow down the problem even further. When you go to your mechanic, be a little persistent with the alarm system thing if they try to brush it off. My mechanic did initially, but when I insisted, they got into it and found out the issue! Keep me posted on your situation! Cheers and good luck!

Hey, thanks once more for the thoughtful reply! Will keep all what you've mentioned in mind when visiting the mechanic. I'll definitely insist if they brush off the alarm system topic, though I hope they won't! Learning from fellows like you with hands-on experiences beat googling for sure. Will update you on how things turn out. Here's hoping it's smooth sailing from here on. Cheers!
