In my case, it wasn't the sensor but a glitchy cable/plug connection causing the headache. Took it down to my trusted mechanic. He fiddled about with the cables, some disconnect, and reconnect magic, and presto, all sorted! It set me back 95 Euro, though. Worth it, I'd say.
