Seeking Solutions for a 2021 Kia Ceed's A/C System Not Working Properly

A/C System Not Engaging

Insufficient Cooling/Heating

Air conditioning blows warm air

Hey everyone! I've got an odd issue with my 2021 Kia Ceed with a Gasoline engine. The A/C system is just not doing its job. It's only blowing warm air and the cooling or heating seems insufficient. It seems like the A/C system is not even engaging. My best guess is that there might be some defect in the air conditioning control valve. Has anyone here run into this kind of problem before? How did you manage it, and what was your experience with the garage that fixed your car? Any tips for me to narrow down the problem further would be appreciated. Thanks a lot!

Hey there! So, I own a 2019 Kia Sportage, pretty similar to yours. I gotta say I'm no skilled mechanic but got some experience under the hood, you know. I had a similar issue a while back where my A/C started blowing hot air all of a sudden. Honestly, I didn't want to mess it up so I took it to my trusty workshop. Turns out, it was a leak in the A/C system, pretty nasty one. They plugged the leak, refilled the coolant and I was good to go. It set me back about 495 Euro, but it was well worth it and ended all the warm air blues. Given what you're experiencing, it could be the same issue with your car. But better get the A/C system checked out by a professional. While we are at it, it'd help if you could share more info about your vehicle. Has the car been serviced regularly? When did the A/C last get serviced? It helps to narrow down the issue further. Cheers!

Hey! Thanks for your swift advice. Well, I keep pretty close tabs on my Kia, her last service was at 123494 KM, which wasn't too long ago. The A/C was serviced then, but who knows, maybe they made a slipup. You're right, I'd rather have a pro take a look at it instead of me poking around. Appreciate your share, gives me some solid ground to start off with. Peace!

Hey, cheers for getting back! Quite true, even the best of us can make a mistake. If your last service wasn't too long ago, then there's a considerable chance that something went askew during that service itself, specifically with the A/C. I'm not saying they goofed up for sure, but it's worth checking, right? On top of that, it's always a safe bet to get another pair of professional eyes on the issue. Just in case, it's something different altogether, like a defect in the compressor or probably the control valve like you initially thought. Best of luck with the fix and keep me posted. You got this!

Couldn't agree more! Always good to double-check, especially when it's a mystery as annoying as this! And well, you might be onto something with the service problem theory, I'll definitely question the last maintenance session. A compressor defect or control valve trouble, now that's something I hadn't fully considered, but I'll sure bring it up when I get her checked. Thanks for the tips and the pep talk! Appreciate it, I'll keep you updated for sure. Blessings!
