Seeking Solutions for 2022 Seat Tarraco Diesel's Parking Aid and Electrical Faults

General electric malfunction

|

Park distance control without function

|

Fault stored

|

Warning light in the speedometer of the vehicle

Hey folks, my 2022 model Seat Tarraco Diesel's acting up lately with some issues I've noted; the park distance control's dead, general electrical glitches, some stored faults and an ominous warning light on the speedo. I'm suspecting it might be due to some hitch with the parking aid, but I'd love to gather other opinions. Has anyone faced a similar issue? How did you or your mechanic get around resolving it? What was your workshop experience like? Any input would be highly appreciated!

Hey, I'm no car expert (low experience), but I went through something similar with my 2020 Seat Ibiza Diesel. Sounds like your issue might be a defective cable connection somewhere. When I faced this, my car was also having electrical glitches and the parking aid was acting up. I took the car to my local mechanic. He diagnosed the problem and it turned out to be a defective cable connection, just like in your case. The fix cost me 170.00 Euro, which wasn't too bad. The blokes at the workshop handled it professionally, and I haven't had any problems since. Howsabout some extra info on your car? Things like mileage, recent services, and other things might help pin down the cause. Stay safe out there!

Hey! Appreciate you taking the time to chime in. Your words gave me a bit of hope there; thank goodness it doesn't sound too bad or costly. I gotta say, these electrical issues can really give you some jitters. To add up to the info, my Tarraco had just hit 150122 KM on the dial and had its latest service not too long ago. I'll take your advice and get the cable connections checked up when I head to the garage next. You stay safe too man, cheers for the help!

Hey there, Glad I could give you some peace of mind! It really does sound like our situations were similar. 150K on the clock isn't too shabby for the Tarraco, but these niggles can indeed pop up as the miles rack up. Given that your recent service wasn't too long ago, I reckon it's probably an isolated incident rather than wear and tear. If it's anything like mine, should be a fairly straightforward fix. Good on ya for getting it checked soon, these electrical problems are such niggly things. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for ya. Let us know how it pans out at the garage, could be useful info for other Tarraco owners here. Take care!

Thanks! Your insight really helps. Right on about those miles, got to love our diesel engines, ain't it? But, you're right again, these little electrical misbehaviours can creep in. I'm quite relieved to hear you believe it's more of an isolated issue. Shall definitely get it seen to ASAP. You bet, I'll come back with an update after the workshop visit - if it brings some value to our Tarraco comrades here, it's worth sharing! Thanks for having my back on this. Keep safe and keep rolling! Cheers!
