Seeking Solutions for 2017 Mazda BT Series: Navigation and Audio System Failure

Navigationssystem is not working

Audio system is not working

Hey everyone, I'm experiencing some problems with my 2017 Mazda BT Series, diesel engine, clocked 137094 KM so far. The navigation and the audio system have gone off the grid and I reckon it might be a speakerphone microphone glitch. Anyone ever faced a similar situation or had issues like this? How well did your mechanic handle it? I had a rough ride last time at the garage, so a bit anxious here. Looking forward to your stories and hopefully a solution! Cheers!

Hey! I really feel you there, my 2014 Mazda CX-5 had a similar problem a while ago. My dashboard went dark - no audio, no navigation, nothing. It's like the infotainment system just got stuck on a long tea break! Turns out it was a bit more than just a speakerphone microphone glitch. My mechanic had to replace the whole infotainment unit. Apparently, it’s a known bug with some Mazda models around our year. The fella did a good job, all things considered. It wasn't a quick fix, it took a couple of days to get the job done, the whole fitting and testing stuff. But let's just say that once the new unit was fitted, everything sailed smooth. So, hang in there. Not exactly a joyride, but not the end of the world either. Hope this helps calm your nerves. Good luck!

Hey, that does sound like a bit of a nightmare. Totally sympathize with what you're going through. My 2016 BT Series had a similar issue at one point. It was one of those gremlins that just came out of nowhere, left me fumbling in the dark. Seems like a few of us Mazda owners have been through this awkward infotainment saga. So, you mentioned your mechanic replaced your whole infotainment unit. Do you remember how much it set you back? I'm trying to figure out the potential wallet damage, you know? :) And just out of curiosity, have there been any other issues with your Mazda since the fix? Hopefully, your ride's been sailing smoothly after that. Thanks for sharing your experience, it's really helpful. Cheers!

Hey there, I couldn't agree more that these infotainment issues are quite a hassle. So about the invoice, brace yourself a bit as it wasn't exactly chicken feed. The repair job totaled to 815.00 € - that's for restoring the infotainment system which was completely shot. It's a hefty price, I know, but gotta tell ya, it was worth it, no more running into a dead end with the nav or audio system. My BT Series and I have been cruising along fine since then. Regarding your query on any other problems post the fix, I'm pleased to report it's been all smooth sailing since then. Specifically on the speakerphone microphone issue you mentioned, that was sorted out when I saw my mechanic. Hope the numbers don't shock you too much and you get your system back online soon. Cheers!

Cheers for the detailed response! I must admit the cost is a bit jaw-dropping. But I agree, we gotta do what it takes. I'd rather pay a bit more now than have an ongoing issue. Good to hear you're not facing any more hassles with your BT Series after the fix. That gives me hope. I had a word with my mechanic, hoping to get mine sorted soon too. I'll treat this as a one-off affair, hope our Mazda's keep giving us smooth and trouble-free rides foremost. Cheers for sharing your experience, really appreciate it. Now, off to get that infotainment system revamped. Take care!
