Seeking Solutions for 2017 Hyundai Creta Petrol Engine Start-Up Problems

Car won't start

|

Vehicle starts briefly and goes out again

Hey! I'm dealing with some odd issues on my 2017 Hyundai Creta with a petrol engine. It's refusing to start up as it normally would, and on the rare occasion it does start, it quickly dies again. My educated guess is that this could be due to a lock mechanism issue. Have any of you experienced something similar with your Creta or any other model? Any ideas on how to zero in on the root cause? Particularly keen to hear about any workshop experiences you've had addressing this issue. Cheers!

Hey there! I've got a 2015 Hyundai Tucson, quite close to your model. I ain't no mechanic but I've had my fair share of car issues. Ran into a similar problem as yours. Turns out key programming was off. Took it to a local workshop. Had to pay 45 Euro to get it fixed. Might be the same for your Creta? Can you tell me a bit more about your car? Mileage, maintenance history and the likes could provide more insights. Stay safe and keep me posted!

Hey, appreciate your insight on this! Seems like we're on the same boat eh. My Creta hit the 22966 KM marker not too long ago. The most recent service was part of normal maintenance, nothing significant popped up there. I sure hope it's something as simple as the key programming. Will look into it and keep you posted. Stay safe too! Cheers!

Hey! Yeah, seems like we're both in the same bind, but no worries, we’ll get it sorted out. With only just over 22k KM, your Creta is a pretty young chap. I can imagine it shouldn't be something too serious. Now thinking about my Tucson mishap again, I remember there were tell-tale signs like the car lights blinking peculiarly and even the radio turned on and off on its own. The workshop guys told me these are likely symptoms of the key programming issue. Are you observing anything similar in your Creta? Given your recent normal maintenance service, I doubt it will be any part malfunctioning out of the ordinary. Anyways, take a moment to check your key fob battery as well. Sometimes it can be as simple as that. And hey, if it really is a key issue, 45 Euro is much better than a major engine repair, right? Keep me updated and fingers crossed it's just a minor problem. Drive safe!

Hey again! Thanks for sharing more details about your experience, really helpful stuff! I did notice the lights acting a bit funny, didn't think much of it though. As for the key fob battery, it's been a while since I last changed it, possibly a quick and cheap fix there, fingers crossed! And yeah, 45 Euro does sound like a bargain compared to major engine repair haha. Will definitely keep you in the loop. Thanks for your help and a big shout out to everyone who chimed in. Stay safe and let's keep our engines purring! Cheers!
