Hey, appreciate your response. Interesting that your issue was with the cable connections, I hadn't considered that! I'll definitely give that a look when I dip under the hood again. To answer your question: the issues have been occurring pretty frequently. I would say every time I'm driving for more than 15-20 minutes, the warning lights kick in - right now it's just the check engine light. Definitely noticing the black smoke and power loss more when I'm accelerating, especially on the highway. My Quoris got its last servicing at around 70k KM, so I'm currently on 72745 KM. I'll keep an update if anything changes! Thanks again for the help!
Hey there! No problem at all, we're all in this together. Your symptoms sound pretty familiar to me. The frequency of the issues, especially the check engine light coming on after 15-20 minutes of driving, and the black smoke and power loss—these are all things I experienced with my Sorento. Given that your Quoris is at a similar mileage to when I had these issues, and the fact that you're seeing this especially during highway drives when you're likely accelerating more, I'm even more convinced it could be a similar issue. So, if the local workshop isn't too much trouble for you, I would recommend taking her in. The cables might be the cause but it could also be something else. It's always safer to have a professional take a look, especially if you're not very experienced with DIY car repairs. Maybe you can ask them to test or check the fuel pressure sensor, as it's one of the reasons that can lead to these problems. It's just a suggestion. Hope that solves the problem for you and you'll enjoy your smooth rides again soon. Wishing you the best of luck! And do keep us posted, interested to see how it goes!
Hey there! Truly appreciate your advice. Yeah, I fully agree that getting my Quoris into the workshop for a professional examination is the safest move given the situation. I'll surely ask them to specifically assess the fuel pressure sensor alongside the cables, it's worth exploring all possibilities. I'm no mechanic by any means, so it's invaluable to have your advice and the community's support. I'll drop an update post once this is all sorted out. Cheers for the support fingers crossed for those smooth rides again soon! Stay tuned!
Hey there, I might understand what you're dealing with. I had a very similar problem with my 2013 Kia Sorento, not too far off your Quoris. I consider myself to have some experience with car DIY, but this one had me stumped. Turned out, it was the cable connections that were defective. Had to dig into the engine to trace the issue, and I'd recommend you check it out as well. That might be causing the backfires and the poor fuel economy. To have it properly fixed, I teamed up with my local workshop and we were able to solve the problem for around 155€. Just to make sure, could you speak more about the frequency of these issues, number of warning lights and are there any particular driving conditions when these occur? It'll help in nailing down what the problem could be. Good luck!
