Thanks for the tip! My Qashqai's mileage is 27947 KM and its last service was just a few moons back. The main anomaly I've noticed, other than erratic power steering, is a subtle whining noise whenever I try to turn the steering wheel. No specific error alerts on the dash though, it's just the regular ABS/DSC malfunction light every now and again. I'll definitely have the cable connection inspected though, sounds like a great place to start. Cheers for your help!

Good day again! That whining noise you mentioned - that rings a bell. My Juke made a similar sound, too! It wasn't constant, but somewhat intermittent, especially when turning corners or trying to park. Kinda like the sound a dog makes when you step on its tail, you know? If it's the same issue I had, then yeah, start with cable connection inspection. As for the ABS/DSC light, my mechanic ran a diagnosis on it as well. The faulty connection was throwing some signals out of whack, which could be why your ABS/DSC is acting up. What I learnt from my experience is that the power steering in our cars is quite sensitive. Even a small error can cascade into multiple issues. Good news is, once you nail the root cause, others tend to disappear too. So, fingers crossed, eh? Keep us in the loop about your progress. Rooting for you and your Qashqai to get back on smooth roads! Cheers!

Hey, really appreciate your insights! You've given me a new perspective on this knotty situation. The sound analogy is spot on - it's that very intermittent whine, primarily when maneuvering around tight corners or parking. Seems we may be onto something with the cable connection, eh? I'll also ask the mechanic to run a full diagnosis on the ABS/DSC system. I'll drop an update here once I've got some news. Cheers for your support, really means a lot during this crazy troubleshooting period. Take care!

Hey! So, I've got a 2010 Nissan Juke - pretty similar to your Qashqai, right? I'm no mechanic, but I have some experience tinkering around with my own car. I had a similar problem with my Juke - it was the cable connection/plug connection that was defective. Took it to my local mechanic's workshop. Lots of head-scratching and inspections later, they nailed the problem down to the faulty cable connection. Had to fork out about 155 Euro in total, but it was worth it. My steering's back to being as smooth as butter. Your case might be different, but given my experience, I'd reckon it's worth getting your cable connection checked out. Could you maybe give some more details about any sounds, anomalies or error alerts you're getting? That could help narrow things a bit. Hope this helps, and good luck with your Qashqai!
