Seeking Solution for 2021 Kia Stinger's Keyless Entry System and Dim Lighting Issue

Dim or flickering lights

|

Vehicle cannot be unlocked or locked

Hey everyone, got a bit of a quirky issue with my 2021 Kia Stinger. It's got a Gasoline engine and recently it's stopped responding to the keyless entry system. The car lights have also become dim or flickering. I'm suspecting it's linked to the keyless system, but not entirely sure. Have any fellow Stinger owners out there encountered a similar issue? If yes, what was the solution given by your local workshop? Would really appreciate your shared experiences and tips. Thanks a bunch!

Hey there! I had something similar happen with my 2019 Hyundai Genesis (also a Gas-powered model like yours) a while back. I'm by no means a car genius, far from it actually - my experience is rather low, but maybe my ordeal can shed some light. Turns out it was a defective cable connection to the outside door handle electronics, just like you suspected. I had it repaired at my local workshop and it ended up costing me around €170. It'd be useful if you can share more about your car situation. Like, have you noticed any other weird occurrences? E.g, Does the problem happen with all doors or just one specific door? The more we know, the better we can help you out. Hope that eases your worries a bit! Cheers!

Hola! Thanks for sharing your experience. Interesting to hear about the defective cable connection as a potential culprit - I'll definitely take that into account. In terms of other incidents, it's difficult to specifically point out. But yea, its affecting all doors and not just one. And I've been maintaining my car well, just got the latest service done at 183852 KM. So, I'll probably head over to my local workshop and have a detailed inspection done. Hoping to report back with good news soon. Thank you once again for your valuable input. Catch you soon!

Hey! Sounds like you're on the right track. That all-door issue does point more towards an electric or wiring problem. Good on you for keeping up with the maintenance, it really does make a difference in these situations. For my Genesis, the repair was simple once they figured out the root cause. I reckon it could be the same case with your Stinger - the hardest part might just be diagnosing the issue. Your local shop would be best equipped to do a thorough check-up. Looking forward to hearing some good news from you. Best of luck!

Hey, appreciate the reassurance! Will certainly keep everything you said in mind when heading to the garage. Fingers crossed it's a relatively simple fix like your Genesis. I'll keep you posted with any developments. Thanks again for your help. Take care!
