Hey there, thanks a ton for sharing that. Quite a tricky situation with that BUS system, isn't it? Can't shake off this feeling of déjà vu just reading about your experience. You wouldn't remember offhand, would you, how much you had to fork over to get it all sorted? Also, has anything else kicked off since the fix, or has it all been smooth cruising? Really appreciate the help!
Hey again! Yeah, that BUS system malarkey was a right pain in the tailpipe! Now, if I remember correctly, I had to shell out about 155€ to get everything shipshape again. That covered the whole shebang - checking the connection, fixing up the cable, and making sure it's linking up to that BUS system just right. And to answer your second question - it's been nothing but smooth sailing since the fix, thankfully! The whole communication disruption between the control devices was sorted out and hasn't shown a sign of giving trouble since - touch wood! The old speedo's warning light hasn't so much as flickered since then, either. Hope this gives you a little peace of mind before your mechanic visit. Drive safe!
Ah that's grand, exactly the info I needed! Bit of a relief to hear it won't necessarily empty my pockets. And fingers crossed my Arkana cruises as smoothly as your Kadjar post-fix. Thanks a bunch for taking the time to help out - I'm in a much better place to handle that mechanic now. Drive safe yourself!
Hey, faced a similar issue last year on my 2016 Renault Kadjar. Started having electrical issues, nav system was acting up, and a warning light was stubbornly on. My mechanic noted that there was a problem with the cable connection of the control unit and the BUS system. I’m not much of a car whizz but he explained it to me like this, the control unit is like the brain of the car, managing all the different electrical systems. If it can't communicate properly with the rest of the car due to a faulty cable, various errors might pop up, and certain systems like navigation can start acting all wonky. The repair job basically involved checking the cable connection, mending where needed and ensuring it was properly connected to the BUS system. It wasn’t a quick job, but it wasn't the end of the world either. The important thing here is to get it checked out by a trustworthy mechanic. Because if left unchecked, the problem could get worse and then you end up with a heavier job on your hands. Hope this helps, and good luck with your Arkana!
