Seeking Advice: Troubleshooting A/C and Heating Issues in 2016 Dacia Sandero

Air conditioning blows warm air

Insufficient Cooling/Heating

Hey everyone, my 2016 Dacia Sandero (gasoline model) has started acting up. The A/C is only blowing warm air and the cooling/heating systems are underperforming. I have a hunch it might be a faulty air quality sensor signal, but I'd love your thoughts on this and suggestions for troubleshooting. If any of you have faced and fixed this issue, could you share your experience and the approach your workshop took? Thanks in advance.

Hey! I had a similar kind of situation with my 2014 Dacia Logan a while back. I'm no wizard when it comes to cars, but I do have some experience with them. Ended up taking my Logan to a trusted mechanic. Turns out, the Line/cable from the air quality sensor was defective. It cost me about 95 Euro to get it sorted. Based on that, it could be a similar issue with your Sandero. However, to give a more accurate diagnosis, could you please share more about your car's condition? Any unusual noise or change in performance lately? Also, any warning lights on your dashboard? Once more detailed information is available, I could give more suggestions. Stay safe with your ride!

Hey, thanks for the fast response! Your experience seems very similar to mine - no dashboard warnings, no odd noises, and the rest of the car's performance seems just fine. It's definitely a sneaky issue. My Sandero has only clocked in 25755 KM and got its latest service a month back. I'll take a look into the air quality sensor cable as you suggested, and bring it up with my mechanic too. Fingers crossed it's nothing more complicated than that. Thanks again for your advice!

Hello again! It does sound like we’ve been down the same road with these sneaky A/C issues eh! Now given there aren't any warnings or unusual noises, I'd stick with your (and my prior) hunch about the air quality sensor cable, especially as your Sandero is relatively new and recently serviced. But remember, the A/C system is quite a complex beast - it could be a number of other things too like a refrigerant leak, a bad compressor, clogged condenser, etc. Just make sure your mechanic gives the whole system a thorough checkup to rule out any other potential issues. Anyway, best of luck and hope the solution is as simple as it was for my Logan! Keep us posted on the progress. Safe driving!

Hey! Absolutely, I'll discuss the potential issues you've mentioned with my mechanic to give the A/C system a comprehensive check. Can't rule anything out until we get to the bottom of this. You've been a real help. I'll definitely keep you and everyone updated over here. Thanks a lot and safe driving for you too!
