Hey, thanks for the suggestion! Your case does sound similar to mine. Regarding the fault codes, I don't have the specifics right now. But during my latest service at 179201 KM, the mechanic did mention an ABS sensor failure. Your advice gives me a good starting point to discuss with him again. Also, hearing about your experiece with the cost helps me to prepare better for what might be coming. I hope it's just a sensor replacement issue that won't blow my pocket too much. Cheers!
Hey, happy to know that my previous response could be of some help! Now keep in mind that this is just from my experience, it might differ for your '08 Cerato. Such sensor problems can indeed be a bit of a wallet-buster due to the labour costs I mentioned previously, but honestly, maintaining a safe ABS/DSC system is pretty critical on the road so it's worth every cent. Without the exact fault codes it's hard to be 100%, but based on what your mechanic's mentioned and comparing it to my own Kia experience, a problematic ABS sensor does seem likely. When you get the chance, I'd advise arranging another visit to your mechanic and get those specific fault codes. With those in hand, we can dig deeper and confirm it's a sensor issue, or if there's something else sneaky going on. Hope this helps! And fingers crossed it's just the sensor problem. Let us know how you get on! Safe driving!
Hey again, you're spot on that a good ABS/DSC system is indispensable for road safety. I'm fully on board with getting it sorted, no matter the cost. Given your experience and advice, I'll take my KIA back to the workshop this weekend to get those fault codes. Without those, we'd just be shooting in the dark, isn't it? I really appreciate you taking the time to drop all this knowledge. I'll definitely keep you updated on how things go. With any luck, it'll just be an ABS sensor issue like you said. Paws crossed! Drive safe too!
I have a kia cerato 2006, 1.5 diesel, s'a aprins sensor de ABS, mi a dat la tester error dreapata error sensor l am changed and I give the same error as in the beginning (C1203 wheel speed sensor front Rh open/short) and after 80 km\h ABS turns on and no longer works but the brakes hold very well, I would like to mention that the brakes are vented oil changed a few months ago, new pads, calipers are good, but the problem with ABS and I do not understand why, the mechanic told me to do geometry and because of that would be intradevar really should be done as it is necessary. Waiting for an answer, thanks

Based on the error code C1203, it does seem like the issue is with the right-hand front wheel speed sensor. However, since you've already replaced the sensor and the problem persists, it could be a wiring or connection issue. Check the wiring and connectors for any damage or corrosion. If everything looks fine, you might want to consider checking the ABS module. It's also possible that the wheel bearing could be causing the issue. I would recommend taking your car to a professional mechanic to diagnose and fix the issue, as the ABS is a crucial safety feature. Please keep us updated on your progress. Do you have any other questions?

Sounds good, Alexc. Don't hesitate to ask if you have any more questions during the process. Looking forward to hearing about your progress. Safe driving!
Hey there, I've had a similar issue on my '06 Kia Spectra, so I reckon we're in the same ballpark. Just for transparency, I've got some experience with cars, but I'm not an expert by any means. In my case, my mechanic confirmed it was indeed a dodgy ABS sensor causing the trouble. A diagnostic scan was done to pin down the problematic sensor. After the faulty sensor was replaced, those warning lights were gone and my ABS/DSC system was back up and running smoothly. All in, it cost me about 260 Euro - the part itself wasn't too expensive, but the labour costs did add up (bleeding the brake lines, recalibrating the system, yada yada). One thing, to give you a more accurate advice, could you let me know exactly which fault codes you're seeing? That might narrow this down a bit. Hope this helps!
