Hey there! Cheers for the insight, really valuable stuff. I wouldn't be surprised if it's something similar happening with my Yeti, seeing as the symptoms are pretty similar. Out of curiosity, do you recall how much it set you back when you got that water pump cable connection replaced? And have you faced any other issues related to this since then? Thanks a bunch!
Hello again! I'm glad you found the information useful. For me, the repair job including the replacement and labor came up to 155.00 €. Honestly, that seemed like a bargain considering the sheer relief of sorting the problem out. And best thing, ever since the mechanic worked his magic, the error message between the control devices vanished! The old Octavia’s been purring like a kitten ever since. No more overheating or warning lights. It's pure cruising pleasure now. Take care!
Thanks a million for sharing that, it's a load off knowing what I might be up against. It looks like I'll be heading to the mechanic first thing tomorrow to have a look at that water pump connection. I'll let them know about your experience and see if that might be causing my Yeti's troubles. Fingers crossed it won't be anything more serious. And if it all works out, I'll be right chuffed to get back that cruising pleasure again! Cheers!
Hey there! Ran into somewhat similar gremlins with my 2015 Skoda Octavia. Overheating, check engine light, the whole nine yards. Took me a bit to figure out but turned out to be a defective cable connection/plug of the water pump. When I first noticed the symptoms, I headed straight to my local garage. They first went down the rabbit hole thinking it might be a sensor problem or a radiator issue. But then, noticed the water pump wasn't working effectively. On closer examination, the mechanic suspected the cable connection/plug of the water pump. They suspected corrosion or physical damage, you know how these cables can get over time. I tell you, it was a weight off my shoulders when they replaced that connection. All the issues disappeared and the old girl was running smooth as ever. So, I'd suggest having a look at the water pump's cable connection/plug for your Yeti. It’s a serious issue, as it can lead to major engine damage if unresolved. Hope that helps and all the best!
