Seeking Advice: Inefficient A/C and Heating System in a 2023 Renault Arkana

Insufficient Cooling/Heating

|

Air conditioning blows warm air

Hey everyone, I got a 2023 Renault Arkana, fueled by gasoline, with about 29691 km on the clock. Recently I've noticed that the A/C only blows warm air and my heating/cooling system seems less efficient than usual. My hunch is there might be some issues with the solar sensor inside the vehicle. Last time I had my car checked at the mechanic, it was a bit of a nightmare. So, before I plunge into another roller-coaster ride at the mechanic’s, I thought I’d check here. Have any of you guys had any similar issues with your car's A/C or heating? What was the problem and how was your experience getting it fixed at your mechanic's? Any suggested preliminary checks and potential solutions would be greatly appreciated! Cheers!

Hey there, Sounds like you're having a bit of a tough time with your Arkana, almost sounds like the issue I had with my [2020 Renault Scenic] a while back. Same symptoms as yours, A/C blowing warm and overall inefficiency in heating/cooling. It turned out my problem wasn't with the solar sensor but with a defective wiring harness. Sure enough, once my mechanic got his hands inside and had a good look around, we found out the true culprit. The wiring harness essentially functions as the car's nervous system, transmitting signals and electricity throughout, so it's a fairly important part and could throw up a lot of seemingly unrelated symptoms if something were amiss. Don't want to worry you, but the wiring harness issue could be considered serious depending on the extent of the defect. Mine needed a complete replacement, but each case is unique as these things can vary. Consultation with a professional mechanic is a must to determine the severity. No harm in suggesting your mechanic to take an attentive look at it next time you're in for a checkup. The thing is, they may overlook it at times because it's not on the standard list of checks. Just a thought! Anyway, best of luck with your Arkana and hope it all turns out for the best! Cheers!

Hey there! Blimey, sounds like you've had quite the experience with your Scenic. Gotta admit, never thought about the wiring harness causing such an issue. You've given me something to ponder upon, for sure! As for my Arkana, since this could be similar to what you faced, I'm actually curious how much it cost you to deal with it? Also, after resolving the harness issue, has anything else come up? Things can get wild with cars sometimes. Looking forward to hearing from you. Cheers!

Hey! Oh yes, the car troubles sagas sparing no one. As for the costs, it set me back about 155€ to get the harness issue on the Scenic sorted out. Different cars, different issues, different costs - you know how it goes. Hopefully, it won't be as severe on your Arkana; any car fixing price hurts the pockets. Post that notorious harness disaster, after a stressful waiting period, glad to say the Scenic's been doing hunky-dory. The mechanic also managed to fix the solar sensor malfunctioning within the vehicle while he was at it. Killing two birds with one stone - I was chuffed with his work! So far, it's been smooth sailing, and strangely, the A/C and heating seem to be more efficient than ever. Just goes to show that sometimes taking care of one problem can make everything run smoother. It's like the car's gained a new lease of life. Anyway, chin up and do keep us updated on your Arkana's situation! Hope things pan out for you. Good luck! Cheers!

Hey! Fair play, yours was definitely a story worth sharing. Appreciate the deets about the costs - 155€ does sound hefty but hey, if it gets the job done well, I guess it's worth it! Learning about how the mechanic tackled your solar sensor problem and essentially revamped your Scenic definitely puts me at ease. Maybe a swipe of a magic mechanic's wand is what my Arkana needs too. Who knows, perhaps the A/C and heating system will get a performance boost just like yours. Here's hoping for the best! Thanks for sharing your experiences and making things a bit more relieving for me. You'll be the first to know about what happens with my trip to the mechanic! Cheers!
