Seeking Advice on Uneven Ride Height and Excessive Bounce in 2007 Fiat Stilo

Excessive Bouncing

Uneven Ride Height

Hey, I've got a 2007 Fiat Stilo, gasoline variant, that's showing some odd behavior. The ride height is uneven and there's too much bounce. I thought it might be an issue with a faulty door contact signal, but wanted to get your thoughts - anyone here experienced the same problem? Especially interested to know how you fixed it and any workshop experiences you had. Appreciate your insights!

Hey there! I used to have a similar issue with my 2005 Fiat Bravo a few years back. I'm not exactly a car expert - I've only some experience with handling car matters. In my case, it wasn't a door contact signal issue. I took it to my local garage after observing the problem for a while. To my surprise, it turned out to be a Cable/plug connection defect. They charged me 155 Euro to fix it, which I felt was worth the cost considering how the ride improved. Now, since our car models are similar, it might be your problem too. But I can't be sure without more details - like the mileage, any recent repairs you've done, even the weather where you are. Every detail can really make a difference. Hope this helps!

Hey, appreciate the response! Yeah, mileage currently stands at 72124 km, and the latest servicing was done around a month ago. But they didn't identify this specific issue then. As for the weather, I’d characterize it as mostly mild but varied. Interesting that you mention the Cable/plug connection defect. I'll see if I have that checked out. I hadn't considered it could be something like this. Thanks again for putting that on my radar! Let's see how much it sets me back financially. Cheers!

Hey! It's good that you've kept up with the servicing, that's always really important. With the mileage and the mild, varied weather, the symptoms do seem to lean more towards the Cable/plug connection defect that I had experienced. Keep in mind though that, I'm just sharing from my personal experience, it could still be something else. So, definitely get it professionally checked out in a workshop. If it is indeed a Cable/plug connection defect and cost is a worry, maybe try looking around for quotes from different workshops, or even consider a second-hand part from a reputable source. Either way, fingers crossed it's nothing too costly or serious for you. Do let us know how it turns out. All the best!

Hey, that's some sound advice you've given there. Never really thought of sourcing a second-hand part, but it's definitely worth a shot if cost becomes a concern. And no worries, I definitely plan to get it checked by the local workshop to understand the root cause. I'll keep you updated once I have it inspected. Fingers crossed it isn't anything severe. Thanks again for your help, cheers!
