Seeking Advice on Troublesome Alarm System in 2019 Gasoline Dacia Dokker

Alarm system malfunctions

Hey, got a puzzling situation here with my 2019 Gasoline Dacia Dokker, racked up around 34K KM. Lately, the alarm system's been acting up – I suspect the extra battery in the anti-theft kit might be on the fritz. Has anyone faced similar quirks? Would love to hear how your mechanic tackled it, especially after I had a dodgy experience with mine last time. Your insights would be a great help!

Hey there. I've got a 2016 Dacia Sandero and faced an almost identical problem about a year ago. Turned out, it wasn't the alarm system but my battery was actually on its last legs. From what I observed, the car's performance gradually started dipping, especially the start-up in the mornings. The headlights also were a bit dimmer than usual. Thought initially it might have been an issue with the electrics or alternator, but after a thorough inspection at the garage, they figured it was the aging battery that threw everything out of whack. The fix was pretty straightforward - swapped out the old battery for a new one. It wasn't a massive deal per se but it's essential to keep a tab on your battery's performance cause a constant low charge can damage other bits of the car. Take your Dokker to a trusted professional and have the battery examined alongside the car's general health. Hope this helps.

Hey there, interesting to read about your experience with your Dacia Sandero. My Dokker’s been acting weird as well and I think the alarm's acting up might just be symptomatic of something more serious, like the battery issue you mentioned. Don't remember the last time I checked my battery, but it's safe to say, it's due a checkup! If you don’t mind me asking, do you recall roughly how much you ended up shelling out for fixing your battery situation? Also, have you noticed anything else off with your car since this incident? Looking forward to hearing from you!

Hey, nice to see you're being proactive about your Dokker's situation. About the costs, it was around 330 Euro. Yikes, kind of a dent in my pocket, right? But hey, it was definitely cheaper than handling more serious damage down the line. Post-visit to the mechanic, the issue with the additional battery in the alert system was sorted as well. Who knew the darn battery was just an old-timer causing a ruckus? Since then, my car's been running like a champ, honestly. No more annoying alarm assaults or those faded headlights - made my morning rides much less of a hassle. Plus, my mind's at ease knowing I'm not damaging other parts of my car because of the aged battery. So, no regrets. Do give your battery a thorough check; it's worth it, trust me!

Phew, that cost a pretty penny, didn't it? But considering the sheer trouble it saves you from, it sounds like money well spent. Yeah, my primary concern was to prevent any damage to the other parts of the car and seems like getting the battery checked is a good first step. Thanks for letting me know about your exact experience, definitely puts things into perspective for me. I'll break the ice with my mechanic and talk over this issue. Now that I think about it, my Dokker's headlights have been noticeably dimmer lately. Appreciate your advice!
