Hey, thanks for the speedy reply! Quite interesting to hear about your experience with the Kia Sportage, given our similar issues. So, some more details about my Joice - It's got 166094 KM on it and I've not had any major services or work done on it recently. As for odd sounds, there's like this faint ticking noise. It's not all the time, only intermittently though and I've been noticing it more when the lights on the speedometer and airbag show up. Thanks for the suggestion about the acceleration sensor, I'll have that checked by my mechanic and see how it goes. Hope it doesn't cost too much though! Cheers.
Hey again! Ah, that ticking noise gives us more to go on. Interestingly enough, I heard a similar short-lived ticking noise in my Sportage before those warning lights popped up. Considering you’ve not had any major work done on your car recently and it’s got a fair bit of mileage, it might be dealing with some wear and tear issues. It could be something as simple as a loose wire causing the lights, or it could be something more intense like your acceleration sensor, similar to my case. Definitely a good idea to get your Joice checked by your mechanic. Make sure to ask him to check out both the active hood mechanism and the acceleration sensor based on our talk here. It is a bit of a process, but nothing too alarming. Keep us posted on what they find out, now I'm curious too! And fingers crossed for not too heinous a bill. Happy troubleshooting!
Hey! Yeah, the ticking is pretty unusual. Your explanation makes sense, considering the mileage and recent lack of any major work. I'll definitely ask my mechanic to look at both the active hood mechanism and the acceleration sensor. Hopefully, it turns out less complex. Sure, I'd be happy to keep you updated about the fixes and costs. Here's to hoping the bill doesn't blow a hole in my wallet! Thanks again for your tips and sharing your experience. Fingers crossed and let's see what we find. Catch you later!
Hey there, I had a pretty similar issue with my 1999 Kia Sportage. I'd say my level of car expertise is some experience, but I'm no pro. Anyway, I was having troubling indicators on the dashboard too. After a couple days of irritation, I took it to my local mechanic. Turns out, my acceleration sensor was shot. Cost me about 315 Euro to get it squared away, which wasn't too bad considering. But of course, your case might be something totally different. Could you maybe drop some more deets about your ride? Any odd sounds or recent repair work? Could help to diagnose your problem a little easier. Hope this helps!
