Seeking Advice on Troubleshooting Uneven Ride Height and Bounce in a 2008 Mazda Spiano

Excessive Bouncing

Uneven Ride Height

Hey! I'm having a bit of a head-scratcher with my '08 Mazda Spiano, Gasoline engine. It's been bouncing a lot, the ride height's uneven and it just feels off. I'm suspecting the air suspension compressor might be the culprit, but I'd appreciate your thoughts and any troubleshooting tips. If anyone's had this issue before, how did your workshop handle it? Keen to hear about your experiences. Cheers!

Hey there! I'm no mechanic, but I had a similar issue on my '06 Mazda Premacy, just a rung up from your Spiano. The ride was all over the place - the exact same symptoms you mentioned. Had to take it to my local garage, and they confirmed the air compressor was shot. I forked out about 890 Euro to get it replaced, but it was worth every penny, the drive's been smooth sailing since then. From my experience, I'd suggest you taking your car to a professional. They'd be able to correctly diagnose the issue and give you a proper fix. Of course, knowing more about your car condition would help us to give you a more accurate suggestion. So, how many miles has your Spiano driven? Is it the first time you face this situation? Is your vehicle check engine light on? Hope this helps you out, good luck with your Mazda!

Hey! Thanks for that insight. Really appreciate it. My Spiano has covered a good 104761 KM so far. This is pretty much the first time I'm facing this kind of issue and it's got me scratching my head. And yeah, the check engine light did come on recently, I was beginning to worry. Guess it's high time I had a professional take a look at it as you suggested. Fingers crossed it doesn't give me a run for my money like your Premacy did (no offense!). Anyway, cheers for the quick reply.

No worries happy to help! Over 100k KM - that's a decent mileage! It’s quite normal for parts to start wearing out, considering the age and the kilometers it has covered. The air suspension compressor could indeed be the culprit, especially given the check engine light is on. I'd suggest getting a diagnostic scan at a trusted garage. They can read the error codes from your car's computer and help you pinpoint the exact issue. And don't sweat the cost! Yeah, my Premacy repair was a bit of a hit on the wallet but the improved ride quality was worth it. Plus, consider the cost of a new car compared to the repair. You may find, like I did, that the repair is a far cheaper option in the long run. Just remember, every old car needs some love - and some repair every now and then! Post an update on what the mechanic says - keen to see if our internet diagnosis hits the mark. Good luck with your Spiano. Cheers!

You're right on the money! Guess every machine needs a bit of TLC after a certain point, doesn't it? I'll book an appointment with my trusty mechanic first thing tomorrow and go for that diagnostic scan you suggested. Thanks a ton for that reassuring push, I was worrying over the costs. But you're absolutely right, compared to a new car, the repair should be a lot cheaper. The love we've got for our old friends on four wheels, eh? I'll definitely keep ya posted about what the mechanic finds out. Much appreciated, cheers!
