Hey! Thanks for giving me the rundown of your experience. Sounds pretty much like what I'm dealing with right now. On to your query about more info on my sweet ride - the Cadenza has got around 120,180 KM on the clock. I last took her in for a service quite some months back. Haven't had any other issues recently till this whining and grinding saga started. I'll definitely swing by the mechanic and have them check the transmission oil. Praying it's not a major deal. Appreciate you taking the time to give advice!
No problem at all! Glad to help a fellow rider out. 120K on the clock isn't at all bad for a 2020 Cadenza. Considering the mileage and the symptoms you're reporting, it does sound like a transmission oil issue. Although I'm hoping for you that a simple transmission oil change will solve the problem, it might also be something a bit more serious like a worn gear. Let's hope it's not that! When you go to your mechanic, I'd recommend asking them to also check the condition of the gears if the oil change doesn't do the trick. Strange grinding noises when shifting is not something you should ignore. Fingers crossed it's just a minor issue! Keep us posted on what your mechanic says. Safe travels!
Thanks again for the solid advice! You're absolutely right, I'll make sure to ask them to check the gears along with the oil. I sure hope it's not a worn gear. That's a headache I'd rather avoid right now. All this advice has given me a clearer understanding of what might be possibly going wrong. I'll definitely keep you all updated on what the mechanic diagnoses. Fingers crossed, it's a minor issue that's easy to fix. Happy motoring, everyone!
Hey there, I can totally relate to this! I had a similar issue with my 2018 Kia Optima. I'm by no means a car expert, I'd say I have some experience just because I've had to deal with a few car issues in the past. In my case, it turned out that the issue was indeed with the transmission oil level. I took my car to my local workshop and they diagnosed the same problem. The mechanic had to flush and refill the transmission oil which cost me around 365€. It's definitely a good idea to check your transmission oil level and refill it if necessary. If the problem persists after that, I would highly suggest taking it into a professional to avoid any major damage. Could you share more details about your Cadenza? Things like mileage, when was the last time you had a service, any other recent issues? It might help us to narrow down the problem. I hope this helps!
