Thanks for your response! It's interesting to hear about your Duster incident. My Sandero is a basic model from 2013, and recently hit the 77150km mark. I haven't had any major issues till this situation popped up. I got its service done just two months ago. Let's hope it's not something too serious. Any additional advice is highly appreciated!
Hey again! Appreciate the extra detail you provided, makes it a bit easier to give tailored advice. From what you've described, it might not necessarily be the gear selection display at fault considering my similar experience with the Duster. The symptoms you mentioned such as the slipping, grinding noise, and whining noises are pretty common with transmission issues. Given that your Sandero is slightly older and has hit 77,150km, the issue could be due to wear and tear. With my Duster, in addition to the wiring harness, I also ended up changing the transmission fluid which seemed to help. While I can't exactly diagnose your situation, you might consider getting your transmission system checked out at a workshop (if you haven't already). Sometimes the culprit could be as simple as dirty transmission fluid or worn out clutch plates. Just sharing based on my personal experience, hope that gives you some direction! Good luck with your Sandero!
Cheers for the advice, my! It's good to have something to start off with. Sounds like it might be more of a transmission issue after all if I go by your experience. I'll definitely look into getting the transmission checked and the fluid replaced as well. Not been the most car savvy person, but it's time to get my hands dirty I guess. Much appreciate the help. Wish me luck with my beloved Sandero. Stay safe!
Hey, it's funny you mention that! I had a somewhat related issue with my 2011 Dacia Duster. While I'm not a big car guru (I have some experience), I found myself tackling similar issues. Turned out my issue was the Wiring harness, it was faulty and messing up the entire system. Had it fixed at my local workshop for 180 Euro and that seemed to solve all the problems. However, it would help to have more specific details about your car, like exact model and such to give you more precise advice. The solution could vary slightly based on different models, even if they're from the same brand. Feel free to share these details and I might be able to help further!
