Hey there! Thanks for sharing your experience. That's definitely a new angle I hadn't considered. My IX1 is pretty fresh off the lot with just 22581 KM on the clock. It's been regularly serviced too, with the latest being not too long ago, but haven't run diagnostics recently. I guess it's time for another visit to the workshop and have them look into this issue. Will surely check on the wiring harness. Thanks again for your input, really appreciate it!
Hey again, No worries happy to help! Seeing as your IX1 is reasonably new and regularly serviced, it is indeed quite strange that you're experiencing these issues. My 2020 3 Series had similar mileage when the problem popped up, and the wiring harness was the culprit. Given our experiences aren't that different, I'd say it's definitely worth looking into that harness. If it was faulty in my case, you might just have the same issue. Remember though, while we're pretty good at this car stuff, we're not pros. I recommend taking it to a mechanic sooner rather than later - these grinding and whining noises aren't something you wanna leave untouched for too long. Especially so with an electric car like your IX1, the transmission system can be pretty intricate. Again, good luck! I have my fingers crossed for you, these tricky car issues can be a real pain. Keep us posted with what you find out!
Hey! Appreciate your help and advice - you may not be a pro, but you sure know your stuff! Your experiences have given me some much-needed guidance. I plan on booking an appointment with my mechanic first thing in the morning. Can't afford to take chances with these noises, it's better to get it checked out asap. Hopefully, it's something as simple as a faulty wiring harness and doesn't run me a fortune. Will surely keep you guys in the loop after my workshop visit. Again, thanks a ton, really, your insights made my day a lot less stressful! Let's see what the mechanic says. Until then, fingers crossed! Cheers!
Hey there, Well, faced something pretty similar a while back on my 2020 BMW 3 Series. I only have a low level of experience when it comes to car mechanics, but I can tell you this much: my problem wasn't the transmission at all - it was the wiring harness! Took it to my local workshop. They had to do a bit of digging, but in the end, my wallet was 180€ lighter but at least the problem was solved. In any case, would you mind sharing some more details about your car’s mileage, recent maintenance, or any diagnostic codes that have popped up? The more data, the easier it is for us to help diagnose. Hope this helps a bit anyway!
