Hey, Appreciate you sharing that! Looks like we're on the same boat, I'm not a mechanic either. Just a guy who appreciates his ride and wants to keep it running smooth. My Tarraco's mileage is currently 86447 KM. My latest service was just about a month ago. The mechanics did a standard once-over, but didn't point out anything out of the ordinary. Now I'm thinking they might have overlooked something... Would be really grateful if anyone has additional thoughts on this issue. Cheers!
Hey, No worries at all! Just usual car enthusiasts looking out for each other, eh? That's interesting you had it serviced a month ago and are facing this issue now. It might have been that something was overlooked, or the problem developed more recently. My Leon's oil pressure sensor did not malfunction, but your case might be different. As based on my previous experience, low transmission oil level could cause the symptoms you described. That could have led to increased friction during gear changes, creating that grinding noise. The erratic gear change and warning light could be signs of wear and tear on the transmission too, which the low oil level would certainly have exacerbated. In any case, I'd suggest not to wait any longer and take your Tarraco to the workshop. Running more diagnostics might help you pinpoint the problem earlier and minimize the risk of causing more expensive damage. Also, if possible, you may want to ask the mechanics to specifically check your transmission oil pressure sensor, given your initial suspicion. I hope this helps and fingers crossed it's a quick, easy fix! Drive safe.
Wow, this is truly a lifesaver! I completely agree with you. It's high time I got this checked at a workshop. It's better to be safe than sorry, right? Dear ol' Tarraco deserves better! And yes, good call on getting that oil pressure sensor checked. Will definitely do so. Appreciate your help and advice. It's comforting to know that I'm not the only one dealing with car troubles. Always learning something new here! Take care and happy motoring to you too! Cheers!
Hey there, I've had a very similar issue with my 2018 Seat Leon a couple of years back. Believe it or not, I'm the farthest thing from a mechanic - just a guy with low car expertise. At first, I thought I could troubleshoot it at home, but it was clear that the problem was beyond me. I took it to my local workshop, and after running some diagnostics, they found out that the transmission oil level was too low. The oil needed a refill and also some bit of work to fix the damage caused by driving with a low oil level. They charged me 365.00 Euro, which seemed fair given the work they did. But to be able to help you more accurately, it'd be great if you could provide some more details about your car. Things like how often you've serviced it, whether you've had any recent maintenance, etc. Hope this helps!
