Seeking Advice on Troubleshooting Power Window Issues in 2014 Hyundai Xcent Gasoline Model

Power windows malfunction

Hey! I'm dealing with a pesky issue on my 2014 Hyundai Xcent with a Gasoline engine. The power windows have been playing up recently. My gut tells me it could be a problem with the window regulator but I'm not entirely sure. Any of you experienced a similar issue? How did you manage to troubleshoot? Could you share your repair shop experiences and any helpful tips? Any pointers would be appreciated. Thanks a lot!

Hey there! I've got a Hyundai Accent 2012, pretty close to your Xcent. So, I'd say I have some experience under the hood, not a pro though! I had a similarly pesky issue a while back, turned out it was the window switch. Went into my local workshop, they got it sorted in no time. Cost me about 130 Euro though - not too bad. Always a chance it could be something else for your Xcent, but sounds quite similar to my issue. Can you give more info on the exact problems you're encountering? The more details, the better to pinpoint the issue. Gotta love these car surprises, right?

Hey! Thanks for your quick response. So, the precise issue with my Hyundai Xcent is that the windows are not rolling down smoothly like they used to. Now it's sort of sticky and inconsistent. Oh, and just to mention, I've clocked up 101706 KM on this beast, so it's had its fair share of road time. I was hoping it wouldn't be the switch, but I guess I have to face the reality. The price you mentioned doesn't sound too harsh, fingers crossed it's around that range if the switch turns out to be the culprit. Regarding the last service, it's been a while, like around 10 months back. I've learned to embrace these little car surprises, but gotta admit, it's a bit of a pain. Anyway, thans again for your advice, really appreciate it.

Hey again! Sounds you've got quite the mileage on that Xcent of yours! Based on your added details, I'm still leaning towards it being a switch issue. A sticky and inconsistent window movement typically suggests a faulty switch (especially if other windows are working fine). However, I'm just guessing here, of course. Since it's been 10 months since your last service, I strongly recommend you take your Xcent to the shop, just to be on the safe side. The last thing you want is experiencing a total failure while you're on the road, especially when you're far away from home. Hey, and if it is the switch, you could be looking at a similar price point as I was, give or take. But I'll keep my fingers crossed for you! Those little car surprises are a bit of a roller coaster, aren't they? Keep me posted on how it all goes. Safe driving!

Thanks for the advice! Looks like a visit to the repair shop is imminent. Fingers crossed it's just the switch and not something else. Thanks for keeping those crossed for me too, I'm gonna need all the luck I can get with this problem. Yep, these car surprises keep you on your toes, don't they? Will update you once I get this resolved. Safe roads to you as well!
