Oh, cool! Good to know about the wiring harness issue. My '07 Tiburon has around 61941 KM on it. The check engine light does pop up every now and then, but I thought it was just because of the overheating. Guess there's more to it, huh? Annoying, but I wouldn't give up my ride for anything. I'll give my mechanic a heads up about this. Cheers for the advice!
No problem! Glad I could help. Given your Tiburon's mileage, I wouldn't be surprised if a few other bits and pieces might need an inspection. If the check engine light pops up even occasionally, it could be signaling some other issues. Don't stress out though, the Tiburon is a sturdy car and most of the problems are fixable without breaking the bank. Just make sure you have a good chat with your mechanic, give them all the details. They'll most likely run a diagnostic check to identify potential faults. Let us know how it turns out, always happy to hear a good car comeback story!
Spot on! I'll take all this advice to heart. Having a talk with my mechanic seems like the best action plan for now. Really appreciate you sharing your experience and tips. Really helpful and reassuring to learn that these issues can be sorted without making my wallet much lighter. Will definitely keep you posted about how this all turns out. Fingers crossed for a great car comeback story indeed! Cheers, and thanks again!
Hey there, I had a somewhat similar issue with my '05 Hyundai Coupe which is pretty much similar to your Tiburon model. I'm no master technician but I've got some wrenching experience under the belt. I suspected a problem with the cooling system as well. Turned out, my wiring harness to the sensor was defective and corroded. My local mechanic sorted it out for €155. However, it's hard to diagnose accurately without more info. What's the mileage on your Tiburon? Also, are there any more symptoms, like is the check engine light on or is it just the overheating? That could provide some additional clues.
