Hey, appreciate your response! That resistor issue sounds like it could be the culprit. I'll definitely find a reliable mechanic and check that out. My Bravo has got 90375 km on it, so probably about time for a checkup anyway, besides the regular service. Will keep you guys posted on the diagnosis and the hit to my wallet. Fingers crossed it won't be as steep as yours. Cheers!
Hey! Your experience sounds really familiar. I too had a similar issue with my 2011 Fiat Bravo a while back. The problem was indeed the electric fan resistor. Unfortunately, my wallet ended up taking a bit of a hit too, around 600 Euro - a bit pricey, but totally worth every penny because since then, I haven't had any more AC or overheating issues. However, definitely get it checked out by a professional to be sure! Sometimes, issues could stem from more than one place. Also, considering the mileage on your car, it might be a good idea to get a thorough checkup. You never know, right? Good luck and do keep us posted! Hopefully, you'll manage to resolve this without leaving too big of a crack in your wallet. Cheers!
Hey, thanks for sharing! Hearing a second case about the resistor does make me lean towards that being the problem. I'll bear your experience in mind while getting it checked out. I guess it's about time for a complete checkup given the mileage, as you both suggested. Will definitely keep all of you updated with whatever comes up next. Hoping my wallet doesn't end up as light as yours did. Wish me luck, cheers!
Hey there! Had a similar issue with my 2009 Fiat Punto, they don't stray far from their siblings, eh? I'm not a car expert or anything, but I got by with some experience under my belt. Had to take it to the workshop, they advised me the electric fan control unit (they called it "resistor" or something?) was faulty, thus causing the AC and engine issues. I remember the hit to my wallet being around 480 Euro. You'll need to check the specifics of your model with the professionals, as different versions might behave slightly differently. Share your car's info with us, maybe it could give us insight on further troubleshooting. And remember, it's always a safer bet to have it checked by an expert. Good luck!
