Hey! Appreciate the quick response! Your experience sounds pretty interesting. Who would have thought a clean-out job could make a huge difference like that? Thanks for the tip. In terms of service, my Diesel Peugeot 807 gets a check-up roughly every six months. The latest was done only a couple of months ago and at that point, it had already clocked 331,478 KM -- ain't she a beaut? And no recent part changes or unusual noises to speak of. Everything seemed pretty tip-top at the time, aside from the escalating issues I mentioned earlier. I'll look into the intake channels you mentioned. Hope that's all it is. Cheers!
Hey there again She's sure a beaut indeed - 331,478 KM and still going! These issues you're having are just classic 'old-age' of a car, nothing too worrying! Given your regular servicing, it doesn't sound like it could be something due to negligence, so we can cross that off. Based on your info, I'm leaning more towards the diesel injectors or maybe even the EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) valve being a bit out of shape. And of course, the intake channels I mentioned previously. The symptoms you've pointed out possibly point to these bad boys. When my injectors were on the fritz, it led to some similar symptoms - rough idling, long cold starts, loss of engine power, and the persistent beautiful glow of the check engine light. A visit to the workshop for some diagnostics, cleaning, and an eventual injector replacement settled things for my Peugeot. With the EGR valve, if it's not opening and closing properly, you might notice some loss of engine power, poor fuel economy, and a rough ride. So, that might be worth a check too. Keep in mind, each car is its unique beast with a unique set of problems. Your best bet would be to have a seasoned mechanic run the diagnostics. Only throwing out some possible theories based on what you've shared and my past experiences. Here's hoping it's nothing too serious! Would be interesting to know how it turns out. Keep us posted! Good luck with it!
Hey there again, Massive thanks for the detailed rundown, really appreciate it. The diesel injectors and EGR valve you mentioned seem like potential culprits indeed, now that I think about it. I do hope it ain't anything too serious, fingers crossed. You bet I'll run these by my trusted mechanic when getting the car checked. It's such a relief to get these insights, gives me the confidence to troubleshoot without feeling completely lost during the whole process. Definitely, I'll keep you guys posted on what I find out. Fingers crossed that it’s just something minor and can easily be fixed. Thanks again for your advice and sharing your experiences - really makes this whole thing a bit less of a nightmare! Cheers!
Hey there, Bit of a car tinkerer here, with some experience. I had a somewhat similar issue with my 2008 Diesel Peugeot 407 a while back. The issue turned out to be heavily contaminated intake channels. My mechanic at my regular workshop took care of it for me. Needed a good clean-out job that cost me around 425 Euro, but it did the trick - runs like a dream now. You might want to check that out on your 807. But to get a better understanding, could you share more info about your car? Like, how often do you service it? And have you had any recent part changes or noticed any unusual noises? Useful stuff to know to get to the bottom of this. Good luck!
