Seeking Advice on Troubleshooting Heated Window Issues in a 2015 Nissan Lafesta

Heated windows without function

|

Fault stored

Hey folks, I'm having some funky trouble with my 2015 Nissan Lafesta, Gasoline engine. Noticed that the heated windows aren't working and there's a fault stored. I'm suspecting it might have something to do with the rear window heating function having some limitations. But that's just me guessing. Have any of you experienced this problem? How did you get this sorted out in your workshop? I'm particularly interested in your experiences. Any tips and tricks to troubleshoot this will be appreciated. Cheers!

Hey there, I had a similar issue with my 2013 Nissan Qashqai, also a Gasoline engine. Just a car enthusiast here with some experience, no professional training or anything. So, took mine to a trusty local workshop. Turns out, my issue was actually a weak battery. They tested it, and it was on its last legs. Don't know if it's the same with your Nissan Lafesta, but it might be worth getting the battery checked out. Cost me about 290 Euro to get a new one fitted. Can you tell us more about your battery's condition? Age, any recent strange behavior, or other electrical issues? It could help narrow things down a bit. Hope this helps!

Hey! Thanks for your insight. It's funny you mentioned the battery because I've had it replaced around 70,000 KM back. That was done during the latest service. My Lafesta has now run 135034 KM, and since then, I haven't had any issue with the battery directly. But yes, you're right. Considering the symptoms, the battery could still be acting up. Will get that checked out and update you guys. Keep the truckload of wisdom coming! Cheers!

Hey there, Great to hear back from you! Noted that your battery is relatively new. Sometimes things are just not as straightforward as they seem, aren't they? You may want to also check the fuses and relays associated with the heated windows. They could play a part in it. It's also possible the heating element in the window itself has a fault, or there may be an issue with the wiring or switch. These are not typically things you can easily check yourself unless you're pretty comfortable with car electricals. If you do go to a workshop, you could ask them to check these areas. Remember, I had also a couple of other electrical issues popping up around the same time as the window heater issue in my Nissan; that could be something you want to keep an eye on for your Lafesta. Keep us posted on how you go, and good luck! There's nothing quite like troubleshooting car problems to keep us on our toes, right? Cheers!

Hey! Spot on! It's literally been a cat-and-mouse chase trying to figure out what's going wrong. Your advice to check the fuses, relays, and even the heating element itself is sound; these are things I hadn't thought of initially. My plan is to take it to my usual workshop and see what they discover, will specifically ask them to check the areas you mentioned. Nothing off in terms of other electrical issues as of now, but will definitely keep an eye out for anything strange considering your experience. Will definitely keep you updated, hoping for the best! Kinda exciting in an odd way! Cheers!
