Hey, cheers for that quick response. Your situation seems quite similar to mine, really hoping the solution's the same too. My Sedici gave me good runs for the most part but recently crossed the 124758 KM mark. Might be why she's throwing tantrums - kind of like a 'car midlife crisis', if you will! Last had her serviced about a year ago. I'll definitely check up on that wiring harness/plug situation you mentioned. Never hurts to check, right? Thanks for the advice much appreciated!
Hey there, that's a pretty good mileage on your Sedici. Trust me; I get it – machines, like us, have their quirks as they age! The wiring might indeed be the culprit if you are facing these issues. However, as your beast has crossed a significant mileage mark, I'd suggest you also consider other wear and tear issues. In my car, once the wiring was sorted, I also had the oxygen sensors checked, the ignition coils inspected, and replaced the spark plugs. That being said, it wasn't much of a pocket pinch. It cost me around 130 Euro in total, excluding labour charges of course. Oh, and yeah, don't miss out on regular servicing – these machines love a good 'spa day' from time to time. Anyway, I hope it's not too major an issue and your Sedici gets back to its old self soon. Make sure you keep us posted. Good Luck!
You're right! I've been neglecting regular servicing, your comment just reminded me how important it is. Fair point about considering other wear and tear issues too. I'll make sure to have the oxygen sensors, ignition coils and spark plugs checked alongside the wiring harness. Good thing it doesn't sound too expensive. Will keep you posted on how things turn out. Fingers crossed there're no major issues. Thanks a lot for your help, really appreciate it!
Hey, sounds like a nasty situation you got there. Coincidentally, I've faced a similar predicament with my 2008 Fiat Punto Diesel. I'm no expert, got only some experience with cars, but the symptoms you described remind me so much of my issue. I took my Punto to a local mechanic I trust. He found that the wiring harness/plug was defective. To be more precise, there were some shorts due to damaged wires and a faulty connection probably disturbed the communication between the sensors and the ECU. In the end, it cost me 95€ to get it all sorted. Worked like a charm afterwards. Obviously, each situation is unique, but it's worth checking out this line of thinking. Could you provide more information about your vehicle? That would help me give more detailed advice. Cheers!
