Seeking Advice on Troubleshooting Cruise Control Issues in 2015 Fiat Talento Diesel

Fault stored

Cruise control without function

Hey guys, I've run into a bit of a pickle with my 2015 Fiat Talento Diesel. The cruise control has stopped working and I've got a fault stored on the display. From what I can tell, the cruise control issue could be causing this, but I'm not entirely sure. I'm hoping some of you might have had this issue before and could give me some advice. Maybe you could share with me how your workshop sorted this problem out and your experiences during the process? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hey there, I had a similar experience with my 2013 Fiat Scudo Diesel, pretty similar situation. Now, I'm not a car guru but I have some experience fiddling with cars. I had the same issue, cruise control giving me a headache and fault code flashing on my display. I headed to my local workshop - fantastic group of folks. The issue turned out to be a defective Cable connection. Was quite a surprise for me! They sorted it out for €95.0 which wasn't too bad. Sorted the problem and no more fault codes. About your Talento, would you mind sharing any specific error codes or additional symptoms? Would help to compare and provide more accurate advice. Cheers!

Hey! Ahh, it’s so comforting to know I’m not the only one facing this. When the fault code came up I was kinda worried, guess I'm not the top gun when it comes to cars. The code showed P0571 - Brake switch A circuit, does this ring any bells? My Talento's got around 55k on the clock and was last serviced around four months ago, dunno if that helps clear things up more. By the way, €95.0 doesn’t sound too bad at all thankfully, was expecting things to be a lot pricier than that! Glad that your Scudo’s problem was sorted out well. Really hoping the same for my Fiat! Cheers!

Hey! You know, you're quite in luck! Your issue looks very familiar. The P0571 error code on my Scudo was indeed related to the brake switch circuit. Something to do with how the cruise control 'reacts' when you brake - kind of like a communication mishap. Looks like the Talento isn't that different after all! My mechanic replaced the brake switch for me, and the problem was sorted just like that. Cruise control worked like a charm and the fault code vanished. Your car's mileage and service history shouldn't affect this too much - faulty components can pop up irrespective of how pampered the vehicle is! So, take it as a grain of salt from a fellow Fiat enthusiast to another, I'd recommend you to take your Fiat to the workshop and discuss this with them. Hopefully, it'll be the same quick and affordable fix that I had. In fact, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you! Cheers!

Hey! Wow, that's seriously some good news! I was already prepared for the worst, honestly. Hearing it's probably just a faulty brake switch lightens up the mood a ton. I'm going to book an appointment with my local workshop first thing tomorrow and bring up the brake switch thing. Let's hope it works out just as smooth as it did for you and your Scudo. I appreciate the solid advice. It's cool to bump into a fellow Fiat enthusiast in times like these. I'll keep you posted on how things turn out! Cheers and fingers crossed!
