Thanks for your quick response! That's a very interesting insight, I didn't consider a software issue at all. Over the course of usage, the car has always been treated well with regular services and as far as changes or modifications, there's been just a few replacements of wear and tear parts. Nothing major. By the way, as a recent update, got the car serviced last at 221748 KM and they didn't mention anything about a possible software issue. I suppose it's worth considering. Reckon I'll take it to the local garage for a check-up and hopefully, it won't be anything too serious. It's good that you got yours fixed with a simple update, fingers crossed it'll be same for mine. Cheers for the helpful suggestion! Let's see how it goes.
Hey, you're welcome! Honestly, I wouldn’t discount that simple software issue. Modern cars like our Peugeots are so linked up with software that even a small glitch can cause these weird symptoms. Your car’s regular service history is encouraging for sure, but I've learnt the hard way that not all garages check for software updates during servicing. I’d recommend you to directly ask them to do a software diagnostics, just to be on the safe side. My Peugeot was around a similar mileage when I had the problem, and the software issue had never once been raised in all my previous services. So just have them look into it properly - you wouldn't believe what a quick software fix can do! Best of luck. Hope your Peugeot gets back to purring smoothly soon. And do let us know how it turns out. You know, just so anyone else having the same issue knows there's hope!
Appreciate your thorough advice, bud! It seems I've overlooked the software aspect of modern vehicles until now. I will definitely request for a software diagnostics during my next garage visit. Lessons learnt, hey! Even though it sounded really simple in your case, it has got me thinking whether there might be other 'hidden' issues due to software glitch. Always better to be extra cautious, I reckon. Hoping for the best! Will definitely update on the situation once it's done, might help someone else in the same boat. Cheers for the time and help, it's really appreciated. Looking forward to a smooth ride soon!
Hey there, I totally get your frustration! I experienced something very similar with my 2010 Peugeot 308. I'm no mechanic, but I've got some experience poking around under the hood. I took my car to my local garage due to similar symptoms - engine light, unusual cut-outs, start-up issues, and that irregular jerk during acceleration. Turns out, the problem wasn't hardware, but software. The mechanic explained that inaccurate software values for the fuel pump were messing up things. It was a relief when a simple software update worth 45 Euro set things straight again. Just wondering, have you done a recent software check-up? Sometimes, it could be as simple as needing a software upgrade. But then, I'd need a bit more info on your car - like any recent changes, modifications, etc, to give a more precise guess. Hope this helps and your 307 gets back to roaring soon!
