Hey, thanks for sharing your experience! Really helpful to get different perspectives. The mileage currently on my Palisade is 22380 KM. Regarding its latest service, I can't recall any coolant changes or cooling system services unfortunately. Maybe it's high time I considered taking a look at that too. Cheers for the advice! I'll check out the coolant level and think about getting the sensor checked too. Appreciate your help!
No worries! Glad I could help. Given the mileage you've on your Palisade, it does sound like a good idea to get the coolant level and the cooling system checked, especially if you haven't done them yet. Just remember, regular maintenance goes a long way in keeping these beauties running smooth. About the sensor, I'd only suggest checking it if topping off the coolant and ensuring the system is running well don't do the trick. What got me thinking about your oil temperature sensor was that the metal shavings in your oil is quite a serious issue and may indicate more severe wear and tear than just a sensor malfunction. I’d advise getting your oil and filter changed immediately and get the engine health checked by a professional, just to be sure! Just hang in there! We’ll help you get through this. Keep us posted and drive safe!
I can't thank you enough! Your suggestions make a lot of sense. A coolant check, sensor check, and oil and filter change sound like solid first steps. I totally agree on the maintenance part, I must have let that slip in the daily hustle! I'll get those things sorted and make sure to have a professional check the engine for any serious damage. I wouldn't want my Palisade's health deteriorating any further! You've been a great help and I'll be sure to keep you updated on how it goes! Cheers and stay safe out there!
Hey there! I'm no expert mechanic but I've got some experience with car troubles. Your story whisked me back to when I had a similar situation with my 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe. Trust me, if it's your engine coolant level being too low, that can cause your problems. Sounds much like mine. My workshop topped up the coolant, checked the system for leaks, and also adjusted the sensor for good measure. It set me back €52.5 but saved me from possibly bigger problems down the road. You might want to try that and see if it helps before investigating deeper issues like a faulty sensor. By the way, what’s the mileage on your Palisade? Has it ever had its coolant changed or cooling system serviced before? More details would help to pinpoint the issue. Best of luck!
