Seeking Advice on Troubleshooting ABS/DSC System and Warning Lights Issue in 2022 Arkana

ABS/DSC system is not working

Airbag warning light

Hey folks, I'm facing a weird issue with my 2022 Arkana's ABS/DSC system - it's not working right. The airbag and ABS warning lights are also on. I'm suspecting there might be a problem with the lateral acceleration sensor. Anyone else experienced this with their Arkana or similar Renault model with a gasoline engine? Any advice on troubleshooting this or insights from having it fixed at a mechanic? Appreciate the help!

Hey there, I had a similar issue with my '20 Kadjar (another Renault model). I'm under no illusion I’m a mechanic, my car knowledge is rather limited. However, I did take it to a professional workshop. They diagnosed it as a defective ABS/DSC control unit. It was a pretty costly fix, about 1000 euro. Could you share the mileage and any recent modifications to your Arkana for a better understanding? Always here to help.

Hey, Thanks for the reply! My beauty's just reached 77086 km. Haven't made any modifications to it recently. My last service was around the 75000 km mark, nothing major, just regular stuff. Not sure how this glitch creeped in. It's concerning to hear about the expensive repair on your Kadjar. Hoping it's not the same issue with my Arkana, fingers crossed! Thanks again for your help, appreciate it!

Hey, Thanks for getting back on this. Considering your mileage and the fact that you haven't made any changes recently, it seems rather unlikely that it's the ABS/DSC control unit. Regular maintenance shouldn't disturb the system, at least from my experience. However, your suspicion about the lateral acceleration sensor could be a possible cause. If the sensor is malfunctioning, it can affect the car's stability system and trigger the warning lights. It could also significantly hamper the ABS/DSC system. I reckon a diagnostic tool might give you an error code confirming this, if that's the case. It's a cheaper fix if it is the sensor problem. In the meantime, drive safe friend, without the ABS/DSC working, the car might handle a bit differently, particularly in wet or slippery conditions. Good luck! Let us know how you go with it.

Hey, Thanks so much for your detailed advice! You've set my mind at ease a bit. I have a friend with a diagnostic tool, so I'll get him to have a look and see if we can pinpoint the issue. Certainly hoping it's that sensor and not something more serious. Thanks for the heads up about the driving conditions too, I'll tread carefully. I'll definitely keep you posted on what happens. We Arkana owners have to stick together, right? Thanks again! Appreciate your help!
