Seeking Advice on Troubleshooting ABS Warning Light and Faulty ABS Sensor in 2012 Dacia Lodgy

ABS warning light

Warning light in the speedometer of the vehicle

ABS/DSC system is not working

Fault stored

Hey everyone, I've got some issues with my 2012 Dacia Lodgy that are making me scratch my head. The ABS warning light is on, the ABS/DSC system seems off, there's a weird warning light in my speedo, and even found a store fault. My hunch is that the Wheel speed sensor (ABS sensor) might be acting up. Anybody else experienced this and got it solved at a workshop? I would really appreciate hearing how you managed to narrow down the problem, and how it got fixed. Thanks a lot!

Hey there, Looks like you're having the same hair-pulling scenario that I had with my 2010 Dacia Logan a while back. I wouldn't say I'm a car guru, more in the side of some experience tinkering here and there. The ABS light got pretty annoying, so I took it to the local workshop. Ended up costing me 260€, turns out the ABS sensor was the culprit all along. It'd help to know more specifics about your car though, is it the same model? Any specific codes or symptoms you noticed? This additional information will definitely help pin down if it is indeed the same problem and maybe even save you some cash. Best of luck!

Hey! Thank you for weighing in on this! Just the kind of info I was hoping for. My Lodgy is a 2012 gasoline model. And yeah, I can see we're in a similar hair-pulling scenario here. About codes or symptoms, apart from the ones I mentioned earlier, it doesn't seem like anything else for now. By the way, the vehicle has got 102309KM under its belt since last service. Do you think that's a bit high for a ABS sensor issue to crop up? Anyway, I guess I'll take it to my local workshop and see how that goes. Looks like I'll need to sacrifice some Euro after all. Cheers!

Hi again, Yeah, that does sound awfully familiar. A 2012 gasoline model, huh? Strikingly akin to the experience with my Logan! About your query regarding the mileage, it doesn’t surprise me if the ABS sensor started giving trouble around the 100k mark. A lot of components start showing their age around that time. I noticed first warning signs with my Logan around 94k KM myself. It seems perfectly plausible to me that an ABS sensor issue could crop up at about the same point in your Lodgy's life. Taking it to a local workshop is definitely the way to go. They should be able to scan it and pin down whether the issue is indeed the ABS sensor. Fingers crossed it's a relatively cheap and straightforward fix for you like it was for me! Best of luck!

Hello again, I seem to breathe a sigh of relief now. It's comforting to know your car had almost the same mileage when this sensor started acting up. So, it seems like a common thing after all. I've scheduled a visit to the local garage this weekend. Hopefully, they'll get to the bottom of this and, fingers crossed, without burning a hole in my pocket. Thank you for your time and advice! I'll update once it's all sorted out. Appreciate your help!
