Seeking Advice on Troubleshooting 2018 Kia Mohave Headlight Cleaning System Issue

Headlight cleaning system without function

Hey everyone, I'm having some issues with my 2018 Kia Mohave with a Gasoline engine. Lately, the headlight cleaning system seems to be out of order. I believe there's an error somewhere within the system but I'm not sure how to go about sorting it out. I'd really appreciate if anyone who's experienced a similar issue could give me some tips or share their troubleshooting experience. Particularly, how was the problem fixed by your workshop? Thanks in advance for your insights!

Hey there, I've had a similar issue with my 2016 Kia Sorento. As a car enthusiast with some experience, I took it to my local workshop. Turns out it was due to a cable break in the system. Cost me around 155€ to get it sorted out. It's crucial that you don't try sorting it by yourself unless you're positive about what you're doing. There could be other underlying issues you might miss. It would be easier to diagnose your issue accurately if you gave some more info on it. Any warning lights on the dash? Is it on one headlight or both? The more details, the better. Hope this helps, and best of luck.

Hey there, thanks for your reply! No warning lights on my dash and the issue is actually affecting both the headlights. Just recently attended to my 28519 KM service. I doubt it's an issue I can handle, so I'll take your advice not to try to sort it out myself. I'll take it to a workshop and hope it's not too costly. Thanks for your insight, it really helped!

No problem, glad I could help! The fact that there are no warning lights and both headlights are affected might indeed point towards a cable issue like the one I had in my Sorento. To be honest, it's really not something you'd want to mess around with if you're not 100% sure about. If I remember correctly, the cable set wasn't overly expensive, just the labor cost was a bit up there because they had to access the area which was hard to reach. It's a bit of an inconvenience, but had my lights shining like new once it was sorted, so was worth it for me! Anyway, give us an update when you get it checked out. Also, don’t worry too much. Even if it's not exactly the same issue, the guys at the workshop should be able to diagnose and fix it. Kia has pretty reliable service. Good luck, I hope it's fixed soon!

That's a relief to hear, I was quite worried. Like you said, probably a cable issue and I'd rather leave it in the hands of the professionals. Going to schedule a visit to the local Kia workshop and I'll share an update once they've sorted it out. I appreciate you sharing your experience and your reassurances. Thanks a bunch, really eased my mind!
