Seeking Advice on Troubleshooting 2015 Fiat Tipo's Electric Handbrake Issues
Electical handbrake is not working

Hey, thanks for the quick response! Interesting about the electric motor in your brake caliper, I might check that as well. As for your question, I can't say that I've noticed any other electrical issues. Everything else is working as expected, it's just this pesky handbrake. Since my last service at 91260 km, nothing has drastically changed, it just seems to be this handbrake acting up. Planning to head to my local workshop soon. Will keep you guys posted on what they find. Cheers!
G'day, Yeah, I reckon it's a brilliant idea getting it checked in a workshop. Your handbrake issue does sound awfully like what I experienced. Maybe it's also the electric motor in your brake caliper. If that is indeed the case, you might have to brace yourself. It won't be a cheap fix. In my case, the rest of my Fiat was sound as a pound, just like yours. No other electrical gremlins. In that light, it's even more likely that the fault lies with the handbrake system itself. I'll be keeping an eye out for your updates. Here's to hoping it gets sorted without emptying your wallet dry! So long for now, and safe driving! Cheers!
Hey! Wouldn't hurt to brace for an expensive fix, but I hope it doesn't break the bank. If it's the same issue as yours, well at least it's been identified, right? You've given me a lot to consider. And yes, I'll definitely be updating after my workshop visit. Your advice has been pretty handy, cheers for that! And yep, let's keep the roads safe! Until next time, take care!
Hey there, I had a similar issue with my 2013 Diesel Fiat Bravo. I'm not a gearhead, by any means, but I know my way around a car to some extent. Long story short, I ended up taking it to my local mechanic who then found out that the electric motor in the brake caliper was on the fritz. Ended up shelling out about 505 Euro to fix it, which wasn't ideal but at least the problem got sorted. By the way, could you let me know if your car has any other electrical issues? Or is it just the handbrake acting up? Any extra info could help pin down what's happening. Cheers!
