Seeking Advice on Troubleshooting 2012 Fiat Sedici's Electrical Issues and Mysterious Warning Light

Warning light in the speedometer of the vehicle

General electric malfunction

Hey all, I'm having a bit of a weird situation with my 2012 Fiat Sedici, petrol variant. Lately, it's been acting up with symptoms like non-working park distance control, some general electric gremlins, stored fault and a mysterious warning light on the speedo. I suspect it's something to do with a glitch in the parking aid but I'd appreciate some real-world advice. Has anyone else out there experienced something similar? I'd love to know how your workshop solved it and what their troubleshooting process was like. Cheers!

Hey, saw your post and it rang a bell. I was in a similar situation with my 2010 Fiat Punto, also a petrol burner. I'm no mechanic, but I've dealt with a moderate amount of car issues, enough to have some experience. The problems with mine basically boiled down to the parking aid sensor acting up. Took it down to my local workshop, good guys, they traced it with a diagnostic scan and revealed the defective sensor. Cost me around 265 Euro to get sorted. If you think it's the same, could you please share the model of your car? So I could probably tell you a bit more about it, hopefully. Hope this helps!

Hey, thanks for the heads up! Wise words indeed. My Sedici is the 2012 model with just around 39069 km on the dial, last serviced a couple of months ago. I'm starting to think you've hit the nail on the head with that parking sensor issue. I'll take your advice and get a diagnostic scan done. Really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience, fingers crossed it's a similar fix! Thanks again!

Hey there, no problem at all, glad to lend a hand. Sounds like your Sedici and my Punto might be distant cousins in terms of issues, haha. If it indeed turns out to be a parking sensor issue, you might be looking at a similar fix cost-wise. But, of course, rates differ from shop to shop, so don't quote me on that. Also, a little bit of advice - make sure they check both the sensor and the wiring. My mechanic found a frayed wire that was causing further issues, so might worth a look see. Here's hoping your Fiat gets well soon. Keep us posted on what you find out! Cheers!

Thanks for the extra info and for being such a help! I get what you're saying about the differences in repair cost, I'll bear that in mind when I take it into the garage. Appreciate the tip about checking the wiring too, adds a layer of complexity but it's good to know. Fingers crossed it's not too bad an issue. I'll definitely give you a shout once I've got it all sorted out. You pals in the forum have really got my back here, means a lot. Cheers!
