Seeking Advice on Troubleshooting '07 Dacia Logan's Central Locking System and Key Fob Issues

Key fob issues

Locking/Unlocking issue

Hey everyone! I'm having a bit of trouble with my '07 Dacia Logan with a Gasoline engine. Lately, it's developed a glitch with the locking/unlocking mechanism and my key fob isn't functioning as it should either. I suspect it might have something to do with the central locking system. Has anyone experienced a similar issue? If so, how did you diagnose or repair it? I'm really eager to hear about your experiences, especially how your workshop managed to remedy this. Thanks in advance for your insights!

Hey there! Had a similar issue, it happened with my '05 Dacia Sandero. Not a car genius or anything, just someone with a bit of experience thanks to all the time I've spent dealing with my car's quirks. Took it my trusty workshop and it turned out to be a cable connection issue - actually, they charged me 155€ to fix it. But hey, every car's different and we're dealing with two different Dacia models, so it might not be the same solution for you. Do you know your exact model - does it have an alarm system or central locking? Sharing more details could really help nail down the problem. Hope this helps!

Hi! Appreciate the quick response. Just to give a bit more context - my Logan is a 2007 model and it has a central locking system. No alarm system though. As for my mileage, she's had a decent run - meter's reading 30199 KM. Last service check was just a few months back. Gonna keep the cable connection issue in mind when I take her to the workshop. Guess, I'll find out more once they have a proper look at it. Thanks for your insight, really helpful. Back to crossing fingers and hoping it doesn't leave a hole in my wallet!

Hey, glad to hear my advice was helpful! Honestly, your '07 Logan sounds pretty similar to my '05 Sandero in terms of the central locking. And at that mileage, you would expect certain parts to wear out. If my experience is anything to go by, it could definitely be a cable connection issue. So, if they tell you it's that, you won't be caught off guard. The 155€ fee includes both labor and parts in my case, so I reckon it would be in the same ballpark for you if the diagnosis matches. Of course, take this with a grain of salt. A professional assessment is always best, but it's always good to have an idea beforehand. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you too. Hopefully, it's nothing too expensive. Keep us posted on what they find!

Hey, can't thank you enough! Especially for breaking down your own experience, definitely helps me have a sense of the potential costs involved. If it turns out to be similar to yours, I reckon I can manage. Yeah, I understand it could be something entirely different, but worth considering the possibility of a cable connection issue. I'm off to the workshop tomorrow first thing in the morning. Will definitely keep you guys updated on what's up. Fingers tightly crossed indeed! Thanks again.
