Hey buddies! Thanks for getting back to me so swiftly. When I try to start my Citigo, I get nothing, no response at all sometimes. And then again at times, it cranks, but that's about it. As for the battery, it's pretty much new, so less chance of that being troublesome. And indeed, your experience sound quite similar to mine. Repairing the locking mechanism sounds wise, though I hope it won't make a big hole in my pocket! Definitely helpful, so cheers for that! Keep you all updated after I get it checked in a workshop. Fingers crossed it all goes smoothly. She's done pretty good mileage at 77814 KM before these issues popped up. Hopefully, she'll churn out many more post these repairs! Cheers again!
Hey again, It really does sound like we've had similar experiences with our Skodas. When my Fabia was in that state, it was indeed a confusing and a bit concerning initially. But don't worry, you're on the right path. With your Citigo cranking but not starting sometimes, and no response at all at other times, I'm even more inclined to think it's something to do with the ignition key Hall sensor as you initially suspected. It's good that you ruled out the battery since it's new. As far as the locking and unlocking issue goes, it's a smart move to get that checked out as well. Fingers crossed it won't cost you a fortune. And remember, it's all sos your car can serve you better and longer! Always great to have a reliable vehicle, and sounds like your Citigo has been performing admirably up until these problems. Can't wait to get the update from you after the workshop visit. Always here to help if there's anything else on your mind. Here's hoping for a quick and not too costly fix. Keep us posted!
Heya! You bet I'll keep you all posted! The parallels between our experiences are indeed uncanny and honestly kind of reassuring. I'm pretty relieved my initial suspicion could be correct. Truly grateful for you taking the time and sharing such a detailed break down. Giving attention to the locking and unlocking issue is a must-do now. Considering the brief problem, my Citigo has been a stellar ride and I'm hoping she bounces back to her old prime soon. Heading to the workshop this weekend most likely, so moment of truth isn't too far off. Once again, massive thanks for your insights and the kind words. Onwards to a hopefully quick and light-on-wallet fix! You'll hear from me soon! Cheers!
Hey there, fellow Skoda owner! I seem to have gone through a similar ordeal with my 2013 Skoda Fabia. Based on my limited experience with cars, I figured it was something to do with the ignition, hence I took my Fabia to a local workshop. Turns out, my suspicion was right; I had a defective Insertion slot as well. The guys at the workshop were quite professional, and put me at ease. They replaced the defective part and made sure it was working fine. The whole ordeal cost me around 290€, but at least the car's been in great shape since. Considering you have mentioned your car has troubles locking and unlocking, you might want to have the circuits and the locking mechanism checked just to be sure nothing else is wrong. To get to the bottom of your issue, do you mind sharing how your car behaves when you try to start it? Does the engine turn at all? Also, how are your batteries holding up? Those are a few things that can help clue in on the problem a bit more. Hope this helps, hang in there!
