Hey there, cheers for sharing your experience. It's actually a massive relief to hear about your similar ordeal with your Seat Leon and the fact that a sensor recoding got you sorted. Gets me hope, at least! Out of curiosity, do you recall what the cost ballpark was to get that steering angle sensor recoded by your garage? Also, any other issues creep up since getting it fixed or has it been smooth sailing so far? Would appreciate any info before I dive into the world of finding a good mechanic! Cheers in advance.
Hey, glad to know my experience was of some help to you. You know what, it wasn't as bad cost-wise as I initially feared. The entire process of correcting the coding of the steering angle sensor set me back by about 195€. Not cheap, but considering the peace of mind I got, it was worth it. And yeah, since getting that sorted by my top-notch mechanic, it's been smooth sailing. The excessive steering wheel vibration? All gone. Power steering acting up? Totally a thing of the past. I can finally get back to just enjoying the ride without worrying about an unexpected surprise from my Seat Leon. It's been a smooth and secure drive since then. Looking back, I should've addressed the issue the moment I noticed it. I hope things work out for you as well. Don't hesitate to shell out a bit more if you find a good mechanic. Take it from me, the peace of mind is priceless. Best of luck sorting out your Seat Tarraco!
Thanks a ton for getting back to me with the useful info! Sounds like getting it sorted out as soon as possible is the way to go and it's definitely good to hear that the vibration and power steering issue completely disappeared after the fix. Quality of ride is key indeed! I guess it's time to shell out some bucks and find myself a reliable mechanic. I certainly don't want to compromise on driving safety. This conversation definitely got me feeling a lot more confident about tackling the problem. Cheers for all the help and advice! Much appreciated. Going hopefully for a smoother ride soon!
Hey, you know what, I had exactly the same issue not too long ago with my Seat Leon 2020 model. The symptoms sounded pretty familiar to me, power steering was acting up and got this annoying vibration. It truly was the steering angle sensor that was causing all the mayhem! Based on my experience at the garage, incorrect coding of the steering angle sensor was mainly to blame. I mean, it's not every day you come across this, but when it does happen, it sure does make your driving a bit of a task. Honestly, it was a serious issue as it was affecting the overall handling and safety of my ride. Luckily, the good folks at my local garage sorted it out and it was all a walk in the park from there. Got the steering angle sensor recoded and things were back to normal. So, if my two cents worth anything to you, I'd say get your machine to a reputable garage that knows their stuff. Trust me, you don't wanna skimp when it's about steering issues. And, yeah, forget the nightmare guy and use word of mouth to pin down a good mechanic in town. Good luck!
