Seeking Advice on Seat Tarraco 2022 Lock/Unlock Glitches, Key Fob Issues, and Warning Lights

Locking/Unlocking issue

Warning light in the speedometer of the vehicle

Key fob issues

Hey folks, I'm having a bit of a weird issue with my 2022 Seat Tarraco with a Gasoline engine. It's doing strange things like having lock/unlock problems, key fob glitches, and a warning light popping up in the speedometer. I'm suspecting the ignition key battery could be playing up, but I'd really appreciate your insights on this. Has anyone ever experienced these problems? How did your workshop handle it and did the solution work for you? Cheers in advance for any advice you can provide!

Hey there! I had a similar problem with my 2020 Seat Leon a while back. The key fob shenanigans drove me up the wall! I'd say I have some basic car experience, enough to impress my dog but not a seasoned mechanic by any means. The issue turned out to be something as simple as the battery in the key being kaput. Got it changed at my local workshop for about 37.50 Euro and voila, all the issues were gone - no more warning lights and lock issues. Could you give me more info on your car like the mileage and any changes you made recently? I’m happy to help you troubleshoot a bit further. Fingers crossed it’s as simple a fix as mine was. Cheers!

Hey! Thanks for your prompt response. My Tarraco's mileage is currently at 192838 km and it had its last service fairly recently. I haven't made any modifications since the last service, so it's all as standard for a 2022 model. Hopefully, my issue could be fixed as smoothly as yours. Cheers for the reassurance and your willingness to help out! I'm off to check the key battery now. Will report back on how it all goes. Fingers crossed!

Hey there again! First thing, kudos to you for keeping your Tarraco ticking over to nearly 200K km. With that kind of mileage, it does support the theory it might be the ignition key battery that's given up the ghost as they're usually good for a few years. As your Tarraco is still fairly new and hasn't been modified, it's unlikely to be a serious system failure. It could also be worth checking your car manual or reaching out to your dealership's service staff for anything specific to your model that might be causing these issues. Best of luck with the battery. It's an easy enough job even if you're not Mr. Fix-it, the battery is usually housed in a small compartment within the key fob. And hopefully that will sort everything out. If not, feel free to post back here with any more symptoms and we'll see if we can't find another remedy. Shout out if you need anything else, always here to lend a hand. Good luck!

Cheers for the quick follow up! I appreciate the kind words about the mileage, she's been quite a workhorse indeed. Your advice does make absolute sense. I'll peek into the car manual and try replacing the key battery tonight. Also, great idea to check in with the dealership service staff. If the battery switch doesn't do the trick, I'll surely be back here with updates. Thanks heaps for your help and support! Fingers remain crossed, wish me luck!
