Thanks for the response! Your experience's similar to what I'm going through - a real nightmare, eh? Mileage on my Kia Quoris is hitting 162499 KM and the last service was a while back. I haven't checked how clogged the DPF is but considering the black smoke, I'm guessing it's pretty severe. Thanks for the repair cost information, gives me some clarity on what I'm diving into. Hope to get it sorted at my local workshop. Fingers crossed it won't cost an arm and a leg!
No worries! Sure sounds like you're in a bit of a pickle with your Kia Quoris but hey, cars, am I right? Seeing as your mileage is pretty high and your last service was a good while ago, you're probably spot on about the DPF being severely clogged up. It's crucial to sort it out soonest, not just because of the poor performance, but also it can cause serious damage to your car's engine. In my experience, once I got the DPF sorted out, a lot of those issues you're dealing with seemed to dissipate - the black smoke, the lousy fuel economy, and the feisty check engine light. I'd recommend you get your car to the workshop ASAP and have them check the DPF as well as the exhaust back pressure sensor you mentioned. It might be a bit pricey, but I'll wager it'll cost a heck of a lot less than a new engine. Anyway, best of luck with it, hope you get it all sorted without having to sell a kidney!
Spot on advice! I knew the high mileage and delayed service won't do me any good, and there's no escaping the garage visit now. At this point, anything less than a new engine cost is a relief. I'll follow your advice and get the DPF and back pressure sensor checked ASAP. Saving my kidneys and getting my Quoris back on track is the top priority now. Love the car too much to see it choke up like this. Appreciate your help! Tell you what, if all goes well, I owe you a pint or two! Cheers!
Hey! I feel your pain. I've had a similar problem with my 2014 Kia Optima--bloody pain, I tell ya. I've got some experience in the car field, not a pro but know my way around decently. The main culprit was indeed a DPF severely overloaded. Can't be too sure, but your guess could be close to the mark. Just so you have an idea, cost me around 1325€ at my local workshop to fix it. Do you know how clogged your DPF is? That information could help nail down your problem. Anyway, good luck with the pesky car trouble. Here's to hoping you sort it out soon!
